Music Cup Round 5 - Body Parts (PICK 3!)
[solved]Music Cup 2015 Round 5: Eyes & Ears
Rick_Dagless gets the full 10 points thanks to Dave Grohl's 'Monkey Wrench' narrowly pipping Samo's choice of The Animals 'House of the Rising Sun'. I've seen Foo Fighters 3 times myself and I think Dave himself would agree that's a bit of a travesty!
Tina is 'Jamaican me crazy' with his choice of Buffalo Soldier that comes in third and I get 4th place with my hipster choice of the Eels.
Davie picks what was possibly my fave of the round with the B52's Rock Lobster and is tied for 5th place with DancingWeeMan and Hammersmith Harrier.
Rounding off this week are Adam, CLB and current leader Compelling who has a poor round brought on by his choice of Elton's 'Crocodile Rock'. Questions have to be asked over that choice.
Scores after Round 4
Well it's packed at the top tighter than a Hungarian train heading to Germany with a 3way of Tino, C&R + Dick_Ragless, Adam is hanging around just behind like a bad smell whilst Stella's dropped slightly off the pace after a no-scoring round. I've gained a little ground and stand 10 points behind the leader, Samo as well is starting to gain ground. At the bottom Galted stands defiant in his HiTecs refusing to buckle to picking popular songs in a popularity test.
Next round is....Cigarettes & Alcohol, any song or musical artist in which an alcoholic drink or drug is involved in the title. You know the drill btw.
PS: I'm making the executive decision that the song 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' by Oasis is banned from the round, jeez I'm not spoonfeeding you a choice!

Went for Meat Loaf (because that was my choice last round), Arctic Monkeys (because i wish i'd thought of it) and Reef (because they were my second choice this time round).
Its actually the first round where i've struggled to narrow it down to just 3 - could also have happily picked R.E.M, Queen or Radiohead too.

It's uncanny how equally unpopular jeff and I continue to be.
I voted for Kate Bush - not a huge fan of the song but as Tina said, it's a genius pick.

Bit embarrasing for you though Superfly that the first round aside I have basically not tried and you're still not beating me.

I picked a song by a Japanese instrumental group in the first round - I had a lot of ground to make up.
My second choice in this round was "Moist Vagina" by Nirvana. I should have gone for that - who wouldn't vote for a moist vagina?
Well sean obviously, but who else?

Iron Lung, Mardy Bum and Ain't that a Kick in the Head.
I like the Streets a lot, but not that song.
Whoever picked the Smiths would get the same welcome in my house as a clean shaven man would in Shah's. Not one of these quizzes goes by without someone picking a sh*t Smiths song.

Morrissey may well be a bell end, and is in fact a bell end, but during his time with the Smiths, he is responsible for some of the best songs ever written. Hand in Glove being a case in point. Got my vote, and deservedly so.

Two of my picks are on this list, so its good to see someone else has taste.
On another note, the Smiths were Poopie and Morrisey is such a slave to his own ego he's almost became a parody of himself.

People need to learn to disassociate the man from the music he made. Just because a bloke is/was a massive tool it should not and does not diminish how good the songs he wrote and performed were. The Smiths were brilliant, Johnny Marr is fantastic, the lyrics are extraordinary and a good bulk of their canon still sounds as fantastic now as the day it was written, Hand In Glove falling into that category.
Charlton Heston was a goggle eyed NRA loon, does not make A Touch Of Evil any less of a film for that fact.

Johnny Marr > Morrissey.
The problem with Morrissey is even the good songs the Smiths wrote he ruined with his melancholy. Or nonsense. I can only listen to one Smiths song a day because his voice sounds a bit like someone taking the p*ss out of a philosophy student.

Some impressive individual has voted for Peter and the Test Tube Babies. This person is someone who deserves admiration and cash. This is because Peter and the Test Tube Babies are to music what Barton Fink is to cinema.
