Music Cup Round 5 - Body Parts (PICK 3!)
[solved]Music Cup 2015 Round 5: Eyes & Ears
First topic message reminder :
Rick_Dagless gets the full 10 points thanks to Dave Grohl's 'Monkey Wrench' narrowly pipping Samo's choice of The Animals 'House of the Rising Sun'. I've seen Foo Fighters 3 times myself and I think Dave himself would agree that's a bit of a travesty!
Tina is 'Jamaican me crazy' with his choice of Buffalo Soldier that comes in third and I get 4th place with my hipster choice of the Eels.
Davie picks what was possibly my fave of the round with the B52's Rock Lobster and is tied for 5th place with DancingWeeMan and Hammersmith Harrier.
Rounding off this week are Adam, CLB and current leader Compelling who has a poor round brought on by his choice of Elton's 'Crocodile Rock'. Questions have to be asked over that choice.
Scores after Round 4
Well it's packed at the top tighter than a Hungarian train heading to Germany with a 3way of Tino, C&R + Dick_Ragless, Adam is hanging around just behind like a bad smell whilst Stella's dropped slightly off the pace after a no-scoring round. I've gained a little ground and stand 10 points behind the leader, Samo as well is starting to gain ground. At the bottom Galted stands defiant in his HiTecs refusing to buckle to picking popular songs in a popularity test.
Next round is....Cigarettes & Alcohol, any song or musical artist in which an alcoholic drink or drug is involved in the title. You know the drill btw.
PS: I'm making the executive decision that the song 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' by Oasis is banned from the round, jeez I'm not spoonfeeding you a choice!

Went for Bush for it's comedic value, the fact she no doubt had a cracking 70's beaver and because I like the song, The Smiths because I'm a huge fan of the Morrissey/Marr - Lyrics/Tune combination and The Eagles because I'd forgotten it was my choice but heck I need the votes anyway.
If I could do an exchange between giving and subtracting votes I'd give up all my votes in the remaining rounds to subtract them from Everybody Hurts. REM are a decent band but that is a f@cking brick of a song.

I bloody love you Hibbz, if you spent a bit more time on the CC you would almost certainly be above Sean. You may even get another bump in the tabel for slagging everybody hurts off. If you could have found time to slag off Dry your Eyes and Oasis, even though they are not in this round you could be a serious top five contender.

The Streets has actually lost a vote since it started. It was on 7.
That still leaves 6 cretins on here though.

Making you giggle is reward enough for me Tina. I just hope you recognise the cunning brilliance in my next pick and vote accordingly.

Sorry Rowls but Mike Skinner is such a purple headed warrior he almost makes me l*l out loud especially on that particular "song" and I actually quite like song Oasis stuff as it reminds me of a fun time in life before middle age and work ruined it.

Bit too old for me fella like em university graduate age. No greater joy than bumming the feminism out of women after they've been brainwashed. Also you might have the feminism and the boobs but your obsession with boxing renders you a little too masculine for me.

Did you decide to have the 'Parts of the Body' round after you'd been thinking about Kate and her bush, just so you could use it?

Genuinely no.
I was going to pick Heart of Glass by Blondie, decided last minute to listen to it on Spotify and under recommended artists it had Kate Bush.
Basically 2 minutes before the list went up I chose it.

Lamb moussaka. Some chips as well that I probably didn't need. Some green beans and sweetcorn.
Strawberry yoghurt for afters. Although I have just eaten an orange club biscuit as well.

I hope you're not planning on drink driving.
That would be very irresponsible. You might end on the right hand side of the road and have a head on collision with Trussy.

Re: [solved]Music Cup 2015 Round 5: Eyes & Ears
Results!
Head and Bush come first!
Yes in the battle of Body Parts the melancholic Radiohead managed to hang onto the coat-tails of my inspired last minute choice of Kate 'au natural' Bush's Wuthering Heights. Samo gains 10 points to put him into the mix as we enter the later rounds.
A plethora of runner-ups then with the top two of Compelling & Dick_Ragless both scoring strongly with Arctics Monkeys (most overrated band of the past 20 years) and the cockrock ballad by Cutting Crew, air guitars at the ready Wrasslin fans. Davie's Fat Bottomed Girls and Superfly's choice of Dolphin's fave quiff haired Mancunian fill out the runner up spots.
Tino and Adam both score 4 points with Reef and Meatloaf but is that enough to keep them near the top come the closing rounds? Julius's pick of REM's Everybody Hurts has us reaching for the razorblades to selfharm, CJB's pick of Streets has Rowley reaching for a baseball bat to inflict it.
Oh and Galted had 1 person vote for Up your Bum. Well done sir.
So the scores are...
Next round will be...Countries & Cities, songs or Artists that contain either the name of a Country or City! PM me the usual!
