How would this New Zealand Foreign Legion XV do in the RWC?
Just a team put together from the 37 NZ-born players representing other nations in the forthcoming RWC! Not intended as a dig at anybody and some of these guys genuinely grew up in or have parents from the country they represent, but they would also be eligible for New Zealand.
1. Uini Atonio, France. Born in Timaru, New Zealand
2. Ole Avei, Samoa. Born in Wellington, New Zealand
3. Nathan White, Ireland. Born in Hawera, New Zealand
4. Will Skelton, Australia. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
5. Kane Thompson, Samoa. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
6. Dean Mumm, Australia. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
7. Jack Lam, Samoa. Born in Hamilton, New Zealand
8. John Hardie, Scotland. Born in Lumsden, New Zealand
9. Kahn Fotuali’i, Samoa. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
10. Quade Cooper, Australia. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
11. Sean Maitland, Scotland. Born in Tokoroa, New Zealand
12. Michael Stanley, Samoa. Born in Ackland, New Zealand
13. Jared Payne, Ireland. Born in Tauranga, New Zealand
14. Joe Tomane, Australia. Born in Palmerston North, New Zealand
15. Tim Nanai-Williams, Samoa. Born in Auckland, New Zealand
It's a pretty impressive looking team. I'm thinking quarter-finals at least.

Dylan Hartley at hooker...
Edit: Sorry missed the "at the upcoming world cup"
Is there no Kiwis in the Japanese team?
I actually thought there be more teams with them in. Only really Samoa and Australia.

Dean Mumm….who’d have thunk it?
Just looking at Wikipedia reveals a rich All Black history in his family, with Bill Mumm playing for the All Blacks v Australia in the famous 1949 series where NZ lost to both South Africa and Australia on the same day

That's only a 15-man selection. Japan have Thompson, Ives, Broadhurst, Leitch, Tui, Hesketh and Sa'u. You could have one of those back rowers in to provide better balance.

could also have
Nel, Strauss, "blank", Botha, Geldenhuys, Denton, Claassen, Strauss, Kockott, Allen, Dirksen, Barritt, "blank", "blank", Spedding.
Thats 12 current SA players currently playing for six nations teams alone.

It would be interesting to see where each player in each team learnt their rugby.
Being born in another country doesn't mean squat if the player grew up elsewhere
