As if I managed to get my show up before 5 others considering I hadn't even finished booking it this morning!

Cut some corners with the match writing but didn't take away from the main points of the show I think.

Can we get injuries up ASAP? Need to get as much of my Week 6 show written as possible.

Everything okay with Tooze? He's the only one who didn't get their show up last night.

EWA owner DDP has announced he'll be flying in to Glasgow for an emergency summit with Paul Heyman regarding his actions recently and the EWA championship. Dirt sheets are rife with rumours that Heyman could be facing disciplinary action for abuse of power.

We'll have more on this story as it develops.

Tooze - If I were in your position, I would concentrate on putting your efforts into your Week 6 Show. Injuries have been posted and the deadline is a week today.

Anybody fancy a go at running sheep this week? Gregers, don't believe you have run one yet.

I'll be starting the reading the shows today, hopefully Tooze gets something up as I don't really want a default win. This week I enjoyed my show but I felt the execution wasn't as good as it could have been.

WWA Season 9 - Page 18 Empty Re: WWA Season 9

Post by Fernando Sat 28 Nov - 15:04

WWR 4-1 WAF -
EWA 4-1 GPW
NGPW 1-4 nXtreme
XXX 6-0 MWF - Default Win

GPW Feedback
Honestly, I think this season has been a great learning curve for Prometheus who, I think if he returns will be a title contender once he has found his direction. The storytelling is on par but the in-ring action could do with a little more polishing. Bizarrely, The Odd Couple Tag Tournament once again proved to be a unique success with some excellent parings that really pushed storylines forward.

GPW
Last week for PPV week I voted that GPW was my least favourite show due to the theme of ghosts but this week I feel we have seen a big turn around in this show alone, it wasn't perfect but it was a big step in the right way. I feel to enjoy the PPV you have to look at it as a weird experiment and not a normal wrestling show and that is what I did this week. The show started well, I feel that the Kayfabe v Reality theme could be an amazing theme but I don't know if ghosts and ghouls is the right way to go about it, I also feel that with all of the stipulation matches the excitement for them is long gone with GPW over doing them. The most positive point for me from the show was the way that Benoit was approached, during the PPV he was referenced as a killer but this week there seemed to be more of a focus on the wrestling side of his career which I'm a huge fan of. I felt the show did well to build towards the Lost Souls PPV, EC3 seeming to dislike parts of the reality era was a cool tease at dissention, I also liked seeing Jericho and Angle team up but was sad to see them lose their match. Overall a much, much, much better show than before and a step in the right direction from Prometheus, although the theme hasn't clicked for me some of the elements to it have and I look forward to what comes next for the first time in a while.

GPW
Great opening, led well into the opening match. I enjoyed the odd couple match. Jericho and Angle v Bossman and Warrior was cool, and the main event was even better with Big Ryck turning on EY and aligning with EC3. Soul on a Pole sounds, interesting…

GPW
+ I like the odd couple tournament as its something that we don't see often nowadays and the matches were all really well put together
+ I must say that I'm enjoying the whole Kayfabe is dead storyline, Im really looking forward to how this continues
- What exactly is a Soul on a Pole match? Either way an entertaining show throughout

GPW
The match ups were great and the matches were ok, the stories behind them however, not so much. At the PPV Pentagon JR lost the match and left only to be brought right back? By bringing him right back you have killed any point of the story that was left, wasting both your time and the readers. I am looking forward to seeing how the ppv shapes up though.

EWA Feedback
Great opening segment! You made some very good realistic points which set up the main event perfectly. I wasn’t really a fan of how the PPV ended but I must admit, I think Paul Heyman and his stable have really cemented their intensions and I can’t wait to see if / how they get their comeuppance. Rey Mysterio’s new heel persona is very interesting but I think it needs to be layered better with more heel tactics. Just like Prom, I think Samo has been a breath of fresh air this season and with a little work on the in-ring action for some of the mid-card matches, the shows would be flawless.

EWA
EWA this week goes from strength to strength with their first show after the PPV yet I think that a few things just don't feel right so I'll get the few negatives out of the way first. My biggest issue (a small one) is that certain people are being booked in ways that I feel just don't quite suit them. For instance you have a wrestling veteran and former World Champion Bobby Lashley being booked as if he's a new up and coming guy. I also don't quite buy Rey as the heel yet but guys like Big Damo are getting great builds and his feud with Sheamus is becoming a highlight for me. Another slight letdown for me was the lack of all of the matches being used, the five matches provided (apart from Trish's squash match) were brilliant but it feels a waste to not use all the available matches when having a great roster. The main event for me was brilliant, the winners shocked me and it got me thinking that we'll be seeing Galloway and Cena in the main event picture soon enough and I look forward to how it happens. Overall a great show with probably my highlight feud of the entire WWA contest, this week we got a great face turn for Okada due to the respect shown between him and Ambrose but we also got Joe added to the mix, I feel as if Joe is the obvious winner here due to his links with Punk BUT I look forward to these three men clashing before that probably happens.

EWA
Enjoyed the opening, made a lot of sense. The matches were fine, building towards the next PPV. Cool use of Samoa Joe, look forward to that feud. The end was very cool, end of Cena and Galloway getting title shots will hopefully see them move on and maybe Punk v Joe?

EWA
+ I really like the heel Mysterio that you're doing, its different in a good way as its something we've never really seen from Mysterio
+ The debut of Joe was really well done and set up a future match with Okada and Ambrose very well, the main event was strong as well
- I felt that Ambrose being injured yet still beating Corbin hurt Corbin quite a bit, also where does Cena go from here?

EWA
Upsides - The Okada / Ambrose stuff felt really realistic and I love Joe being introduced there. I thought the stip for the main event was really good and the match itself was great with a top quality ending.
Niggles - I think some other feds moved on more stories, but that's a really minor niggle here.

EWA
After the last few weeks, this show feels like a step backward for EWA. Don’t get me wrong, it was good but, over the last few weeks, Samo has been putting out high quality shows that were just a little bit better then this weeks. That being said, I’m liking how the Rey/Kalistro story is being painted and I’m looking forward to seeing where the main event picture is going from here with both, Cena & Galloway out and Joe, Ambrose and Okada’s setting there sight on it and of course Lashly being named number one contender, things can and will get interesting. Enjoyed the Michaels vignette too.

NXTREME
Nxtreme this week picks up where it left of with my favourite show of the week, the show gets straight in to the action and sets up a nice main event that also helps carry on a great world title feud. I feel that it's nice to see Jordan and Gable take the lead but hope that if they win the best of 5 they do it cleanly to really earn the passing of the torch from WGTT. The show didn't feel as long as previous shows which is a good improvement and this coupled with the booking of guys like Zayn, Aries, the APA and New Day really helps push just how good this show is. I feel like everything Greggers writes makes you think about what could come next which helps to truly immerse yourself in to the show. One of my only minor bits of negativity this week was the booking of Chris Sabin, although I look forward to his week I felt that having him go through lawyers and talk about protection goes against everything Greggers has been building for about two seasons now, this being said I cannot wait to see him back to see who his next opponent is. The main event of the show was mazing, the inclusion of Neville brought fresh legs to the main event feud and I hope to see him get involved a bit more down the line. Overall the show was great and kept me guessing from start to finish, I truly believe that anything could happen in the show and have no idea what might happen next which for me personally is a huge compliment due to the fact nothing really feels illogical when everything is said and done.

nXtreme
Enjoyable start, great opening match although I’m sceptical the best of 5 will go 2-2 and a decider at say, the final PPV?! New Day retaining makes sense, even in a strong division. The next few matches were fine, nothing major. The segment just before the main event and the main event were great, really well written.

nXtreme
Upsides - Good opening match to get me into it. I've been trying to work out in my head if New Day / SAWFT works, good to see that explored here. I'm interested in Sabin's return next week. Zayn and Neville what a way to end the show.
Niggles - I don't think I can say anything bad about that.

nXtreme
Flawless as usual. Many storylines and rivalries being set up. The reveal of the Princess has finally come and I had to reread three times. It confused me a little but, it was great reveal and I enjoyed reading it each time. Reading the show I didn’t know who was going to team with Zayn and then boom Neville and I should have seen it coming but, I didn’t. This is a testament to your ability to distract me with good things going on.

NGPW
This weeks NGPW started out brilliantly, straight away we were pushed in to the action with a big announcement of an ECW tribute show and a huge 7 man ladder match. I felt the six out of the seven men being announced made the final one the dead cert so this only helped make the twist feel even bigger. The show's pace continued as we got a title match set up between Awesome Kong and Paige, a title change feels like a PPV moment but I also feel like Paige will win so having it early really makes me think that anything can happen. I didn't feel like everything worked, the idea of Elgin and Foley didn't quite get me excited but I'll give it a chance and having another vignette about the mystery roster member also took out some of the momentum. The main event was a little long but really well written, the twist really shocked me but having him win a match that he wasn't involved in didn't quite make sense. I feel that this will open up the feud to Hardy who has a rightful claim and other members in that match who will feel cheated. Overall a great show and a great step towards the next PPV, I think next weeks card is shaping up nicely but I don't really feel too invested in ECW to get too exited just yet.

NGPW
Another great NGPW show, started off with three exceptional matches, then the Elgin/Foley match surpassed them! The time limit draw was a great way to tease their PPV match. Some great feuds being set for the next PPV, and the main event was very cool, Adam Cole challenging Raven will be interesting to read.

NGPW
Upsides - Good set up for the main event. There was a nice mix of vignettes, interviews and matches. With a great set up for next week.
Niggles - A DQ in a 2 out of 3 falls match, I guess so. A 25 minute Elgin vs Cactus Jack match in the middle of the program might be a bit much for some viewers.

NGPW
The show was pretty good overall, however the spelling and grammar mistakes made it hard to read in some places. Really enjoyed the ladder match and build, I didn’t think Adam Cole would win so, that was a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to the hardcore match between Paige and Kong. Dario seems to building himself an army of interest. NGPW has been on top of the mountain since I’ve been around these parts but, this season, NGPW has felt to be slipping a little.

XXX
I’m going to kick-off with the only real negative and that was the cash-in and the segment that followed the main-event, Trevor Lee hasn’t had any build up what so ever so it’s just hard to really invest any emotion into what’s happened although the world title picture looks stacked more than ever. The New York title being repackaged into a women’s title was a great move and the falls count anywhere match to follow was superb. The Bobby Roode was a nice, simple introduction. There are bits here I’m really looking forward to but other’s I have to question.

Triple X
A great opening segment slash first match that didn’t happen, still build well for the PPV. The Falls Count Anywhere women’s match was great, and Roode v Styles was a great way to debut Roode. The tables match was very cool, a great read. The main event would have been a good way to end the show, but the cash in was an even better ending, very well written. Literally no idea where it’s going with potentially Lee, Gargano, Wyatt and Roode all with a right to a title match with Styles!

XXX
It’s not often that I am able to decide a show of the week so, it is a pleasure to say that this weeks show by Triple X was my favourite show. It had great stories, great set ups for the future and a great set of match but, that could have more to do with the fact we chose them rather than Viper :P. My favourite part was the close, first you had an open challenge, then the champ offering the rematch, then Wyatt demanding the title and attack his own follower and then boom, cash in. I did not see it coming, which for a smark is great. There are several testaments to your skills in there this week, you made me care about Styles, a guy who bores me and you surprised me with the ending. I saw the Tanahashi / Ibushi angle and continuation of the LaRae/Kim angle a mile off but, still enjoying those angles. The swerve in the Divas division of putting them in a tournament for the NYC title, I thought was great and look forward to seeing where it goes.

WWR
When my biggest criticism of the show is the tag-division, I think it’s pretty clear that pretty much everything else is just fine. The Ascension debut delivered really well and with the likes of the Uso’s & Dudley’s in the mix, I just find it hard to invest into Tyrus & Spud as champions. Like the new Gregory Helms persona, very under rated wrestler in his day and Drax the Destroyer was cool to see. Probably the closest Thunder is ever going to get to a comic book crossover through!

WWR
First things first I will get the biggest negative out of the way for WWR and it is simply that apart from a few of the rosters I couldn't care less about most of the members of the federation. This being said I have found myself interested in storylines involving Gregory Helms, Shark Boy, Tyrus and The Ascension so this is testament to the writing of the show. After such a good PPV I felt that this show could be one of the highlights of the week but for me at points I felt it didn't quite hit the mark, this isn't to say there weren't brilliant moments such as Batista as Drax (despite him making the Uso's look weak) and ACH winning a title shot over three more well known names. I'm also enjoying the tag title reign of Rock Star Spud and Tyrus and look forward to seeing how Team Flair cope now that they've added Ryback to their ranks. One o the highlights for me, apart from a great main event was the hype segment for the Ascension, I felt it really got me behind them which as I've mentioned before it hard to do as I'm not their biggest fan. I felt the final segment was weird for a few different reasons, the match style format threw off the flow and I didn't get why the ownership battle was opened up to so many people as Donald Trump is a smart business man and allowing more competition just didn't make sense, you could argue that allowing Shane the chance could stop the civil war between WWR roster members but at the moment I can't see why the other two would get their shots. Overall a good show that works towards what should be great PPV but not one of WWR's best this season.

WWR
Decent show, bit nerdy with Batista at Drax the Destroyer but will forgive that! The Tag Title matches were cool, with The Uso’s screwing The Dudleyz. ACH v Sandow will be cool, as will Eddie v Cesaro. The ending was very nice with the power struggle coming close to ending.

WWR
+ I really like you using Batista as Drax, its very different a good note to him coming in short time whilst being a movie star
+ I'm intrigued to see where you go with Guerrero vs Cesaro with both being major faces, are we going to see a turn?
- I felt there was too much Usos in the middle and the ending slightly left me confused, maybe it would have been better before the main event?

WWR
Upsides - So nicely written with lots going on. I thought the stories really drove on this episode, with shenanigans aplenty. Liked the cash in.
Niggles - Finding the visual of Helms putting Titus in a headlock straight away and him not fighting out of that hard to see. A cash in ends in a DQ, interesting.

WAF
This week’s show was defiantly a tale of two halves which sadly seemed to suffer from the short week turnaround. The match quality really suffered throughout but the segments really delivered. The opening segment was superb and provided the perfect platform to introduce Christian and the PPV match. Nice to see the Middleweight Title gain some nice exposure and the triple-threat will be a great match. Bo Dallas was pure comedy gold!

WAF
With this weeks shorter turn around you can really see that some of the shows have paid the price for it WAF included. Now, don't get me wrong the show itself was good and some of the segments although drawn out were brilliant, both the first and last segments being major highlights for me. Where this show suffered in my eyes were the matches, nearly all of them felt rushed as they barely hit the bullet point limit and although Bourne v Strong was a great match that sets up a possibly great three way feud I felt the lack of matches let the show down. The show opened with a big match announcement straight away for the next PPV and a brilliant return for Christian, the opening match had a surprise winner which is always nice to see, although getting a title shot straight away next week takes away from it's importance for me personally. Breeze becoming a more viscous heel is perfect but having two beat downs in a row was a bit much, I also had no investment in the women's tag title match and can't see a way that I ever will. The highlight for me as I've mentioned though was the final segment, it was a bit long but it was written so well as it helped build the tension up until the point Havoc announced the main event for the next PPV. Overall a bit of a rushed show that could have probably cut down some of the segment length and bulked up the matches but a good show that moves us towards the PPV.

WAF
+ What an opening segment, it set up the lethal lockdown match so well and having Rated RKO with Christian added as well is superb
+ I really like what you're doing with the beautiful people, them trying to hold all the gold and taking over your womens division is a storyline I can really invest in
- I can't say im overly invested in the stipulation for the world title match and the lack of Rock on the show (even by satellite) hurt the show a bit

WAF
Upsides - Good story progressions. It probably shouldn't have, but the Bischoff / Mickie stuff made me chuckle. Havoc vs the Rock would surely only happen here!
Niggles - Maybe just a tad too much Bischoff in this episode, he was a very busy man. For declaring a Glass Light Tube Deathmatch, with Dwayne Johnson, I can't not give the win to WAF!

WAF
Over the last few weeks, WAF has gone from strength to strength but, this week felt like a step back wards apart from the opening segment. I really enjoyed the opening segment, the reveal of the 5 on 5 match was really cool and I enjoyed the confrontation between the two sides. Their were a couple of continuity errors such as saying that 4 teams will be competing when there was only three in the match and in my mind it seemed impossible for Mickie James to be in the ring and then in the back at Bishoffs office. The matches were short and the whole show seems a little rushed.

Two points I'd like to address. The first is opening it up to anyone, in Trumps mind this allows him to nip any future claims in the butt now.

The second I'd like to address is this: Probably the closest Thunder is ever going to get to a comic book crossover through! Challenge Accepted!

Glad people like Batista as Drax and Eddie as number one contender, I went back and forth on both choices a few times before deciding to do, what would entertain me most.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, like I always say im just glad you're enjoying it on the whole. That was always my intention when I signed up. I hope the final couple of shows dont disappoint, I've got the end goal in mind and cant see me changing too much, but we could see some interesting things in season 2.

Enjoyed the Michaels vignette too.

The good thing about the bad feedback WAF received is that I know in my head you're all wrong Wink

Seeing as it's a little quiet around these parts, I thought I might as well get this out of the way now and make a small announcement. We are setting up and getting started with Season 10 by Easter next year which will be the very start of April so look out for any information in March. Season 10 will also be my last season as Co-Runner meaning I will be stepping aside for somebody else to come in and take over...

Don't forget, your shows are due tomorrow night and we will have votes by Sunday please!

Anybody fancy taking on Sheep this week?

I really could have done with Tyler Breeze not being injured.

Can I change the rules in a Liam Wood style to suit me? Wink
