First topic message reminder :

It's more the leaving it to the last minute which is nonsense. It is appalling business practice for the buyer to do this, as the seller knows they can keep the price high.

What is the point in the window being open for two months if nothing gets done until the last day? Just make it a day long, the opposite of a DFS sale.

I wasn't singling her out as such, but she was certainly the lucky charm that broke the Leprechaun back.

I knew as soon as I saw them wheeling out Mary Peters, that they were scraping the underside of the barrel though.

Where is 2016 SPOTY? I'll be expecting more predictable parochial cliche's.

The R&A offices and TOC in a farewell special. You are doing a special course feature showing how defenceless it now is and how easy it is to shoot 54.

Might need a few takes though...

In other thoughts - can the BBC realistically keep going with SPOTY given the lack (and decreasing) amount of sport they are able to show? The event will be shorter - no footage for montages!

2018 finalists. The BDO darts world semi finalist, a snooker player, Gary Lineker for World Cup Golden Boot in 86, Andy Murray for reaching the third round of one Grand Slam and Chris Evans for driving a car round the Top Gear test track.

In case you find yourself alone on christmas day here is the Guardians list of things to do in such a situation;

I am not sure who has admin they need to catch up on these days, aren't all bills and stuff like that paperless and automatic? Anyway, most of the alternatives to just getting on with Christmas stuff sound hideous but whatever floats your boat.

No, it's just normal winter weather up here. It's not been that bad at all really. Bit windy, bit wet, but it's December. Nothing unusual.

Man Utd still pretty much awful, but if Anthony Martial has played against Swansea like he will do on a regular basis in the future then I will make the prediction that we know who the best player in Europe will be post messi and ronaldo.

Yup, David Moyes would have been hung, drawn and quartered if his teams played like MU have most of this season.
LVG has spent at least 200 mil more than Moyes ever did and just look at 'em.
(Nice goal from Rooney though. Maybe that'll get him going.)

I disagree, can you image how dangerous Martial would be in a team who actually created space and got the opposition out of shape defensively?

Seriously? OK, so he has talent but one season doesn't make him anywhere near the heir apparent for Messi/Ronaldo. :rose-tinted glasses:

Roller/Navy

I said he will be the best footballer in Europe after messi and Ronaldo have began to decline. He does not need to be as good as them to be the best at a particular point in time. I suppose Neymar may also of began to decline in form by the time Martial reaches his prime,

Here's a story about someone who should see the inside of a Brazilian (or Syrian) prison cell:
A Republican presidential candidate is giving a speech in our little theatre (capacity 1,400) Thursday evening, but has distributed 20,000 tickets. Only 1,400 will be admitted, so expect an incident even if only a portion of the other 18,600 show up.
Guess who.
Clue: He'll blame it on Bernie whose office is only four blocks away, probably the only reason he's coming.
Effing idiot.

Nah, it's going to be a war zone. Every intention of heading in the opposite direction. Public safety and City Hall very aggravated about the whole thing, even Republicans.

Loads of helicopters overhead today, Secret Service?

Obama was here about four years ago, Grace Potter opened for him(!) and quite low key in comparison. Went to that, of course!

Navy

I have a vague memory of reading about it a while back but had pretty much forgotten about the details.

As we now know it won't matter all that much of Barca and Real have been doping a bit hear and there. If fifa is willing to brush the current scandal under the rug I doubt anyone caught up in a possible doping scandal will suffer all that much.

You lads are obsessed with the theme of offense and being offended. It seems to occupy a large slice of your lives. Maybe that is a message in itself. I dip in here occasionaly for the craic but it is the same themes all the time. Curious.

Well guns, to a certain degree our discussions reflect what's up in the media and society as a whole. And 'offence' and 'being offended' is a pretty common theme taking up a lot of space over and over again.

Yeah well constantly getting offended by people getting offended is to me the human form of a dog chasing its own tail. Just find it really odd, especially given that taking offense is a very human characteristic that people find it so difficult to admit that from time to time things offend them too.
