Oh, and by the way, our defense has been very good in these first two games. Neither Miami nor St Louis are particularly good offensive teams but the defense has been a big improvement from what we've seen the last few years so far.

You got a sneaky good D line - much improved from last year. Back end isn't great, but serviceable. Promising signs at last eh!

I'd like to see us bag another TD here just to rub Jeff Fisher's face in it.

Yeah, the hope was that the D-Line could be a strength. Knighton and Paea were upgrades and if Hatcher's healthy they we can be strong up front. On the strength of the first two games, it looks like teams will find it hard to run on us at least.
Pats are looking good by the way.... never any doubt about that though.

Morris and Matt Jones ran for 177 yards combined tonight and Kirk Cousins went 23/27 and no INTs..... where is this tough Rams defense I was reading about this week???

Typical St Louis and Jeff Fisher. Essentially the Andy Dalton of teams/coaching. Soon as they're expected to do well they lay an egg

The Broncos, Patriots, Panthers, Cardinals, Bengals & Falcons are all on 2-0. The Dolphins, Cowboys & Packers could join them.

Johnny Manziel's passer rating was the highest by any Browns QB for eight years.
The Eagles currently have 21 total yards going to half time including a massive -3 rushing yards from DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews. Perhaps it is time to bring back Tebow?
Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr and Julio Jones all had over 100 receiving yards. Amari Cooper has arrived in the NFL with nearly 100 yards and a TD in the first half against Baltimore. The Raiders along with the Buccaneers looked much better this week.

Tony Romo is out of the game injured. Not a good opening two games for the Cowboys in term of injuries.
DeMarco Murray has rushed for -15 yards today.

Joe Philbin can't have much longer left as head coach in Miami.
Anyone else looking forward to Manziel and the Browns taking on Weeden's Cowboys in the Super Bowl 50?

So, yeah, you know you've had a bad start to the season when the Redskins look like the team with the fewest issues in the division.

That was the performance offensively that we were hoping for after the draft in Oakland. Thank God they uncorked it and threw deep this week, it even gave us some room to run the ball.
Defense is still a bit crap. Mack and Smith got little pressure, starting to think Mack needs to go back to being a run-killing OLB rushing on obvious pass downs only.

I hate Matt Jones and his filthy touch-stealing ways.
I have Morris as my lead back, and wouldn't you know I left 100 yards and a touchdown on the bench with Gio Bernard.

The Eagles rushing stats are hilarious though, 17 rushes for 7 yards. It's like Trent Richardson's career stat line.

Id challenge most QBs to move the ball when the Guards and Center are in his face in a split second from a shotgun stance.

Ah, so that's where last year's Redskins offensive line has gone??
You want RG3 as well to complete the look?

Indy just cannot handle big boy football at all - and Andrew Luck is a turnover machine.
Maybe they'll raise a banner for being a participant in MNF or something

RG3 to the Cowboys anyone?

Don't see why Dallas would trade away future picks for the now - this is why you have a backup. Yes Weeden isn't great, but he knows the system and has some chemistry with the players there. These other options don't and are also Poopie

Please Dallas trade for RG3. Even a bucket and mop will be fine. Then he can break his leg or something and sting the Cowboys for that injury clause. Ah, can but dream...

Jets dominated the Colts everywhere. I'm so excited about our defense now being able to generate turnovers. It's what we were missing under Rex. Offense surprisingly effective too.

Doesn't matter now anyways, they've traded for Matt 'The Saviour' Cassell.
Weeden won't last long with Cassell behind him, give him a couple of weeks of multi-turnover games and he's backing up the back up.

McCown starting over Manziel this weekend.
Rewarding a win with a benching is the Brownsiest Browns move of all the Browns moves.

I dont get it. Manziel shows signs of life for the first time and you can back to a career nothingman in Josh McCown

Have to agree. Manziel's chemistry with Benjamin was looking pretty fruitful, too.

I thought the D was good too, genuine pressure and the big names made big plays.
But with that many turnovers forced I'm not sure the score line, against a banged up Colts D, reflects a "surprisingly effective" O

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Josh McCown is 36. He has zero upside and is not going future of the franchise at QB. Manziel has shown enough in the two games this season to deserve a chance as starter. He was unlucky against the Jets of a couple of 3rd downs after nice plays were brought back for penalties and lead the Browns to a win last weekend against the Titans.
If you have Manziel, you might as well see what you've got this season, rather than fumble through with McCown and be back in this situation again next season.

Effective enough to win the game. When we needed a scoring drive, we got it. Agree that we need to be more clinical though. Starting drives at the 10 yard line must give us 7 points instead of 3.
