Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
Laidlaw misses the conversion but Scotland have some breathing space.
Next score critical for determining which way the game is going to go.
Scotland need to hammer home the scoreboard advantage.

What the Frak was that restart about? Completely missed it. COMPLETELY. Then Japan penalty from that. They're going for the posts.

And Japan probably wisely decide to take the three on their next penalty. Close the gap again.

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
That is a very cheap scoring opportunity to concede after scoring a try. A soft three points to give away if he can make it.

I have never, ever seen a ball allowed to bounce from the kickoff. Embarrassing. Get Wilson off and Strauss on.

Japan miss penalty, off the upright. Scotland clear their lines.

And Goromaru tries to make it 3 from 4 for today but it hits the upright and Scotland clear.

Just highlighting the truth, but Japan are not being as clinical as they were at the weekend.

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
The Japanese scrum half's passing is excellent - fast and straight into the breadbasket every time - no reaching or scrabbling for the ball from receiving players.

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
Japan attack but Scotland are repelling them .. actually a little better than before.
It's 110 tackles to scotland 69 for japan apparently... tells you something. Scotland clear their lines...again..

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
at the ground, fecking depressed.
if anyone tells me Seymour is a good winger and Schlong shouldnt be near the side again .
Our hooker/lineout general are dire.Hardie (even taking into account his try) has gone missing on occasions, Scott is fecking stagnant, Seymour has done nothing
The try has papered over a sh1te performance, defensive mentality with no flair in attack

Good play from Scotland to carve the Japanese defence open- twice. At this point, Scotland should pull away.

LOVELY inside pass from Laidlaw using Richie Gray as the outside dummy. Following a wonderful Hogg break.

Forward pass and touched down in the dead ball area, no TMO.

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
And finally Scotland make their running and lines pay. Great move by Hogg in changing his line and then another pass to Gray for him to go over.
Daylight starting to appear between the two teams.
Scotland could start to think about getting the TB here if they keep this up.

Being a Super Rugby champion, he can beat anyone else on the pitch in a 'Show Us Your Medals' competition. Quality player.

I think Scotland are doing a bit better than SA to be fair. I think there's more tries to come, from both Scotland and Japan.

Unfair to only have 4 days to recover from playing the Boks. Ridiculous decision from the RWC organizers.

Re: Scotland v Japan, 23 September
If Japan had had a 7/8 day turn around i would not fancy Scotland chances at all.
This surely needs to be looked at for the next RWC. NO team should have to play 3/4 days after their first game.

There's the game; Scotland absolutely must be ruthless and get the bonus point now. South Africa got 2 even though they lost at the weekend.

That is the TMO's job to examine the footage and say whether there was a problem.
And Japan make a mistake and let Seymour away for a length of the pitch run and dot under the posts.
Game over and Try bonus should be a minimum for Scotland here.
