Music Cup Round 7 - Countries & Cities (Pick 3!!)
Music Cup 2015 Round 7: Countries & Cities
First topic message reminder :
Dancingweeman courts controversy this week (well Adam moaned about it) with his winner of Thin Lizzy because it was chosen in a previous round, rules are rules though (or lack of) and I'm not going back through previous rounds each week to check so feck it!
Tina plays catch up at the top with his miserable choice of The Drugs Don't Work, ironically I met Richard Ashcroft a few years ago and he was certainly prophetic in his title looking at him.
Adam and I share the spoils in 3rd place, him picking one of the iconic figures of Hip Hop, whilst I pick a geek from Sheffield.
Compelling and Rick both play it safe to remain at the top with their choices of Oasis & Nirvana...YAWN!
CJB scores a respectable 5 with Snoopy Doggy Woggy Doo Daa.
Nadz joins for the first week and already overtakes Galted with the bizarre choices of D12's Purple Pills, think some may have been taken by those that voted for that crock of crap.
And last up is a blast from my past in Terrorvision's Tequila, many a student night was had belting that out (one ended in me drinking the aforementioned drink from my best mate's sister's bellybutton) and the classic Heroin by Velvet Underground, that really should have got more votes.
Scores on the doors
It's nailtight at the top with a threesome but not one of those you dream about, more like when your Mrs tells you she'd like one and then invites your dad. Worse still is it's being followed up now by Adam & I. At the bottom? Galted. That just explains everything.
Next Round!
Hundreds & Thousands
Any song in which the title or artist has a number in it. As usual send me a PM with your top 3 choices (or just the 1 if you pick crap ones like Rowley and Galted that no-one else in their right mind would choose).

Same as American Girl.
Irrespective of the legality, American Girl is a far superior song.

It's a victory for the very little integrity that this competition has left, that a Continent isn't receiving as many votes as you'd hoped in a round for Countries & Cities.

I am claiming the moral victory. Winning these things is not particularly difficult, just pick whatever song the monobrowed morons have released that vaguely fits the criteria and you're quids in.

My support for you is well documented Tina, your strict observance of the rules and unshakeable belief the Gallagher's are god awful is an example to plenty on here.

I wanted to pick a Shed Seven song for the next round but as the Seven is written in letters and the question requested a number I had a re-think.

It wouldn't sit well with, Rowley. The man is a powerhouse of integrity. He is the only beacon of hope within this flaw riddled, clusterf*ck of so called competition. His execution of the rules and his endearing spirit of competition are infectious.

Rowley is a credit to the integrity. It takes a good man to make such a stand in the midst of what can be described at times as - and lets be honest - farcical.

Low blow, Hero.
Granted, the first Culture Cup had a few 'issues' with integrity, but the Culture Cup 2.0 was as clean as a whistle.
And I might remind you that you won both tournaments before you get too bolshie.

Re: Music Cup 2015 Round 7: Countries & Cities
It was clean as a whistle voting wise, just the 3 week gaps between rounds was the issue!
At one point you went on holiday and just abandoned it.
Though in retrospect, abandoning this whilst I went on holiday may have been a preferable choice than leaving it with a feckwit.

Lawrence of Arabia. That is all that needs to be said about the integrity of the second CC.

I'll tell you a little story about the second CC, you can make your own mind up. There was a round where you had to pick a film that had won best pciture and either best actor/actress at the Oscars. Superfly mistakenly picked Lawrence of Arabia, but Peter O'Toole did not win the acting Oscar. Tina refused to give Superfly the points he attracted. Tina bloody loves Superfly as well, but not enough to imperil the integrity of his competition. That is how things were on his watch.Alistair wrote:Hero wrote:Did you see Tino's Culture Cup? Either we race through these things with any old picks that don't fit the criteria
or
We take our time and have a tournament beyond reproach.
