He's only gone and done it again.  For the second week running, and for the third time overall, AlciG triumphs in a playoff.  This time McLaren was the unlucky loser as both of them picked the winner in Jaidee, both of them picked John Parry, and that's where McLaren came unstuck.  His third remaining pick didn't make it into a scoring position whereas AlciG had Charl Schwartzel who had a top 20 finish.

Pedro and Eyetoldyouso also picked Jaidee and Eyetoldyouso backed that up with another pick scoring points.  Sand had the most picks score points as four of his five did so.  Hibbz matched AlciG by having three picks score points.  1grumpyGolfer, Beninho, Davie, LadyPutt, and TheCleaver all had two picks score points. BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, I'm Never Wrong, KwiniGolfer, Owen10ozzy, and Raycastleunited all had one pick score points.

Scott Hend shot 65 for the low round score while Albin Choi had a 78 for the worst round.  Richard Finch finished at the bottom of the pile on +6.

After a break of five years the European Open returns to the European Tour in another country and with a new venue.  The Golf Resort Bad Griesbach plays host to the resurrected event with Bernd Wiesberger the OWGR headliner and a number of FedEx Cup dropouts joining in with the fun.  Hunter Mahan, thongchai Jaidee, Charl Schwartzel, and Byeong Hun An also in attendance from the top 50.

There is no defending champion in the field, Christian Cevaer was last winner, so Ross Fisher is the most recent winner in the field.  Old timers Stephen Dodd, Kenneth Ferrie, Mattias Gronberg, and Bernhard Langer are all in the field playing as past winners.  Langer is a two time winner with victories coming ten years apart; 1985 at Sunningdale and 1995 at the K Club.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Grumps, I might have been wrong re starting. I was basing my timings from the European Tour website but now not so sure. Apologies if I'm wrong.

Wiesberger, Havret, and Langer had all started when you posted your selections Eye.

I understand what you're getting at on the tee times. It would make more sense if they posted the times in order as opposed to separating out 1st and 10th tee starters.

It doesn't really matter if not as I don't have any great expectations for either of them. Could be eligible for worst score.

Funny thing about Paul Lawrie this tournament. He withdrew and was replaced by Peter Lawrie. Anyway Paul would have been in Cat B and Peter is in Cat C. You may have picked Lawrie thinking it was Paul but you have Peter instead. Clear as mud?

Grumps, just before you do the scores, this was Ross Fisher I chose, rather than Ollie Fisher. Ollie shout a better score but thought id better clarify it. Forgot about heaps of Fishers in the field when was doing my picks at the last min as per usual.

Who ordered the well done cheeseburger? Round one saw a split between the fatties and the slimmers. Bernd Wiesberger was one of two players to shoot 64 to tie for the lead. Benjamin Hebert matched his score but no one really cares about that anymore. Rounds of 65 would have made the top 5 low round scores but several picks could only manage 66s. Sven Struver had the worst round of the day with an 84.

Checked this morning had 7 people in or around the possible cut! Looked now..got 3 who will make it too weekend! Field has been decimated. Top 51 and tied will progress.

Don't think it happens that often but a first round leader looks like he will miss the cut

Funny thing about Paul Lawrie this tournament.  He withdrew and was replaced by Peter Lawrie.  Anyway Paul would have been in Cat B and Peter is in Cat C.  You may have picked Lawrie thinking it was Paul but you have Peter instead.  Clear as mud?

Yeah thanks Grumps - I was thinking of Peter even when I typed Paul but my brain is not my friend at the mo. I also meant Ross Fisher but like Sand forgot to say so hopefully given how he's doing I've also been given him?

Holy moly, that was a brutal day at the office for Fantasy League picks. Out of 58 players only 22 are sticking around for the weekend. Cut bonuses were as rare as rocking horse droppings as only five Fantasy Leaguers earned one cut bonus. Category A paid out three bonuses, Category B paid out two bonuses, and there's just four picks left standing in Category C.

Two Fantasy Leaguers, EmmDee57 and Hibbz, have six picks left and both earned bonuses. 1GrumpyGolfer, AlciG, LadyPutt, and Sand all have five picks left; only LadyPutt missed out on the bonus. Davie, Eyetoldyouso, and Raycastleunited all have four picks left. Beninho, BlueCoverman, Kwinigolfer, McLaren, owen10ozzy, SetupDetermines, and TheCleaver all have the three picks left. Pedro and SirBenson both have two picks left while I'm Never Wrong has just the one pick left.

For the second day running two players, both picks, tied for the low round of the day with 65s. Byeong Hun An earned points for I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, Owen10ozzy, The Cleaver while Ross Fisher earned points for Davie, Hibbz, and Sand. Thomas Levet finished with an 82 for the worst round of the day.
