Rugby World Cup Competition - Final Leaderboard

Like New Zealand, Quickball went into this weekend heavy favourites to take the title and that is how it panned out. Quickball too 43 pts from the last two games put that was enough to see him top the overall leaderboard. demosthenes gave it a good go in the last weekend of the competition and topped the finals week table courtesy of a correct score in the South Africa 24-13 Argentina game.

Quickball also called the most games the correct way, calling 44 out of 48 games the right way. Hugehandoff and The Loaded Dog wer the next best with 42 right calls.

So congratulations to Quickball on winning the Rugby Word Cup Competition

Nobody picked Japan or Georgia. Most had the other six wins. A few had five. Some went for wins for Fiji, one for the USA and one for Italy.

Damn dropped some places even though I predicted we would win then again we won so I am happy with a drop

Ah frigg, I forgot about this and did not do it last week. Oh well, lets just leave it then.

Small margins .. I got the France Romania score one point out and tipped Canada to beat Italy 20-19. Dammit.

But then again I also tipped England to win and many other way off estimations!

I had an awful week. Right out of contention now. Far fewer points available each week now...

I haven't looked at this now since the first few weeks because I felt I was rock bottom, having backed Canada and Japan once or twice too much.   So I looked through my fingers today.  Can't believe I'm where I am.  Very happy.  
Although it must be said some contributors didn't do all games.

My goodness... thought I'd stuffed it up picking France. Forgot all about the Japan-US score.
Pretty sure I was ranked 35th after the first week. Happy to settle somewhere in the top 12.

Though I'd lose that #1 spot this week, maybe next week. 1 prediction i hope i lose, 1 that most will go against; and the other two are straight forward i think.

I went against the favourites too. Just a gut feeling but we're probably out on a limb here!

I've been overcooking the actual points scored. It suddenly hit me during the weekend that the games should be getting tighter going into the top 8 teams playing each other (eg. the 15-9 scoreline between Wales and Oz) and that I'll need to lower my expectations from here on and select lower scores. Well that's all gone out the window!


Also possible scoreline blowouts could occur... with the fallout from the rugged pool matches taking affect.

Not to mention upsets. I did think about France for a nanosecond... it couldn't possibly happen again could it?

A close and hard fought competition, but quickball will be hard to catch. I need to get a prediction totally correct to stand a chance. My complete forgetfulness post the Wales defeat and missing two matches has proved costly

The thing I'm disappointed in here is that No9's algorithm seems to have let him down big time!

So there you go. Proof that we're not actually going to be taken over by machines any time soon. And I'm mad about that because I'd already built my bunker under the house at some cost!
