If you're serious about him playing for Scotland you really need to move to Ayr ASAP.

The feedback I get from people with 3 kids is positive.
Positively feicing horrendous.
You definitely need two in order for them to amuse each other. Even better if the first is still playing up fES as you're used to it.
I heard a cracking quote over the weekend about having kids.
It's like watching your favourite pub burning to the ground.

I wonder if he would have signed if he knew they were signing Faletau too.
Was just about to post that.
Not good news. With Louw, Faletau, Sisi, Houston, Garvey and Mercer in the back row, Denton is gonna have quite some battle on his hands to make the team. Still, maybe it'll bring out the best in him and sharpen his oft lax concentration. That or he becomes the new Beattie Jr

Spot on Maccas, if he doesn't get regular game time Scotland lose out.
If he does it will only be as a result of improving his game: Scotland gain.

I broadly agree, but at least with Strauss and Ashe we have two competent replacements, plus Du Preez will become SQ towards the end of next year I think.
I think we'll see Denton used at 6 for Bath. I can't see him ousting Houston or Faletau.

Agreed on the show pony at 6. Which gives Arthur Ashe a great opportunity to make the Scotland jersey his.

Glasgow Warriors' postponed European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 3 match against Racing 92 has been rearranged for Saturday 9 January at 13:00 GMT.

Warriors' home Pro12 match against Leinster last weekend was postponed because of rain and a new date has yet to be announced.

I see that former Scotland age grade and Racing Metro academy stand-off Fraser Gillies is playing at 10 for Cambridge in the Varsity match today with a certain Jamie Roberts outside him at 12. It's on BBC2 as well.

Yes but one of them will still be reigning champs, playing to packed houses every week and with a pipeline from Ayr ensuring a stream of exciting young talent.
The other one will still be playing in a Library, defending nothing and still looking for players on the cover of Pringle knitwear catalogues.

It is not too bad a suggestion actually - Glasgow have a misfiring pack and leaky defence but can score tries, Edinburgh have a strong pack and solid defence but panic whenever they get the ball!

I suspect you're right. They have probably offered him less than market but on the basis that short of Glasgow results falling off the cliff, the Scotland job will be his (with the uplift to go with it).

It's almost like sensible joined up thinking from the Numpties.
"Ok Gregor, we'll give you some more money and another crack at Europe. That'll keep you busy till Jamesie Cotter and Rab C see out their contracts and then you can do for Scotland what you have done at .....The other club, you know the scruffy one that don't play in our stadium."

Blair could very well end up in that role, although I still find it odd seeing him in a Warriors jersey. It must make him itch.

Former Scarlets prop Jacobie Adriaanse is now available. Proven pro12 level and about the same level as DeKlerk (if not better) he would walk into the Glasgow 15. Samson Lee learned a lot from him by all account and he could be very useful in Fagerson development! Unless you think Fagerson will learn a lot from Puafisi
Glasgow should get their acts together and sign him up asap!

Went to Montpellier has a joker to cover for the World Cup and has since been released and is now by all accounts without a club. Very decent scrummager when given game time which is exactly what Glasgow needs imo, as lets be brutally honest Mike Cusack can't be relied upon.

I noticed Rossouw de Klerk was playing for Grenoble last night in the Challenge Cup against Agen. Not having followed the story closely I had been of the impression that he had been found guilty of something quite serious yet he apparently signed for Grenoble almost as soon as Glasgow ended his contract?

It is interesting that Ritchie is seen as the one worth giving gametime to over Bradbury – I’d say Bradbury is much for physically advanced and looks to be a big strong carrier in spite of his age.
Ritchie would have benefited from being on the 7s circuit instead of Bradbury IMO.

Agreed. I saw Ritchie in person last season and he looked like a stiff breeze could knock him over. I've yet to see what the hype is all about personally, but I'd like to see him play 80 minutes this weekend from 6 so we can hear how he gets on.

Rory Hughes is coming to London Scottish until the 6Nations. Great news! He gets gametime and plays a similar expansive style to the Warriors, we get a dangerous player to fill our injury gaps.
Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread X-rated

Great stuff from Scotland today in the South African 7s, winning the bowl competition by beating England 19-0 in the final having earlier beaten Wales and Samoa. Scored lots of tries.

From what I could tell from Twitter, Farndale scored a few tries and even Nick McLennan managed to score, obviously Edinburgh's missing attacking prowess was out in South Africa..

Re: Glasgow and Edinburgh: Ongoing Banter Thread X-rated
One thing occurred to me on hearing of Townsend's contract extension (OK, it has been a week, practically, but my brain tends to slow down in cold weather) - we've been talking about the rise in brand Gregor, and the question of whether he'll jump straight up to the Scotland job (considering his and Vern's contracts expire at the same time), or whether he'd be able to jump to a prestigious club in England or France (Bath, Toulouse or Montpellier would be my preferred options).
Perhaps a more interesting question is the rise in the brand of Glasgow Warriors, and whether there might be a quality coach looking to come here in 2017 - it's a guarantee of strong resources, international exposure and the opportunity to live in the greatest city on the Clyde.
Who could/should be taking over at Glasgow?
Do we promote from within the club - i.e. Matt Taylor
Do we promote from the Scottish Premier clubs - I hear Ayr are rather good...
Or do we look abroad for a genuine world-class candidate?
