Porter v Thurman Dec 12th
This is according to Dan Rafael. He says its all but done.
If this is true i think its a great fight its also on the same night as AJ V Whyte.
It should be a great night of boxing, who do you think wins this?

Thurman starts favourite. Porter fights like an NFL player. Decent fight, though.

The sensible money would be on a Thurman decision but after the Collazo fight anything could happen, he certainly doesn't have the devastating power that was once proclaimed. If Porter gets into a rhythm then his work rate and strength could be a big factor, he won't be dictated to at distance like in the Brook fight.

You'd think Porter was champ and not Brook.....
Vs Broner
vs Thurman
instead of Gavin, Jojo and Chaves...........

The Brook fight was a mess of clinching and holding - Brook just landed cleaner blows either side of them grappling. I didn't see Porter beaten from range.
Agree his switch to counter puncher has rendered him less effective. He'll need to return to the role of bomber to win here. Porter's bull-rushing style would be perfect for him to do so.

Chaves is a better Welterweight than Broner in fairness.

Brook utilised the clutch Haz, lead right from range, jump in and clinch, were it not for the range he could establish and his speed of foot then that strategy wouldn't have worked.

Least these two aren't ducking. Pity another welter wouldn't grow a set, then we could have winners face off.

Thurman wins this and convincingly too. I prefer Porter and hope he wins but I think Thurman keeps this on the outside. Porter can win if he gets inside like Collazo did but I'd I'd say Collazo was a blip as he's already beaten better fighters than him.
Porter is making Brook look bad and if he wins this then he deserves a rematch.

Porter is a pretty ugly fighter to watch. Hopefully Thurman does a job on him but most of the fights I have seen Porter in are scrappy affairs.

If we see a heated build up just ignore it because its fake.
These two have been friends for years and have sparred many rounds in the gym.
Thurman is not at all an elite fighter neither will he ever be. He has power and timing thats it. Porter should still loose as he is pants.
The state of boxing aye

Doesn't seem much to Porter to me......Seems to wade in......An overachiever..
If Thurman can neutralise him early he wins...

Love this fight, thurman is taking his career by the scruff of the neck. A win here can make him the standout in the division. I'd make it a 70/30 in his favour.
Fair play to porter for being willing to take on all comers win lose or draw. Brook and Khan take note.

Porter is easier to hit than some of Thurman's more recent opponents. Big big opportunity for Thurman to make a statement here.

f..k I can't pick a winner here. I think Thurman, but I'm really not sure.
I think Thurman is definitely the better boxer.

I wonder what Haymon has against Porter? He put him in with Broner at a 144 catch-weight (that Porter was ill-suited to) - Porter seemed set-up to lose.
Odd that he's brave when match-making for Porter but sticks Broner in with far less riskier opponents (I hear he's fighting Ashley Theophane next).

Perhaps he thinks Broner has more future value so he protects him more

I grew up with Ash.
Can't see him winning this but he only got the fight with his ''connections''. Ash was never world class more like domestic level really still he has done good for himself. Mayweather brought him a new car recently.

I saw him fight Ben Murphy in Peterlee - Murphy very nearly ran him out of the ring. He started like an express train but faded down the stretch.

Fancy a Thurman its a UD points victory for me.
Is Brook ducking the elite in the division or the promoter, most definitely the latter, up to the promoters to make the fights not Brook.

It's a cracking match-up. To be the best, fight the best available. Well played to both fighters and their promoters. Khan & Brook's teams are a bit of an embarrassment with their match-making right now - Khan has no fights and Brook's fighting nobodies.
Most of the world's promoters should take note of these guys.

Its worth noting Khan has the same matchmaking team as Thurman and Porter

Agree that Chaves isn't one of the guys who Brook should be sharing the ring with as world champion. But Chaves has only really lost once, with a draw against Bradley not a bad result.
Won't be buying the ppv now btw. Although there's only one person with the name Tyson who is genuinely ppv, I was gonna pay my money when there was a double headliner.
