Credit where it's due!
I just want to say, so far, despite the positives coming out of this RWC, the Japan win, the Australian defence period, the Irish France occasion, the Welsh 'Black night' situation, the Georgian and Romanian finishes and the performances from a lot of young players...
I have to commend the English media, AND tournament organisers for not letting the quality of the competition or hype lessen despite the hosts exit!
The tournament hasn't skipped a beat, none of the furore has been lost, and the home fans have fully accepted the dissapointment and rallied behind the rest of the teams.
For all the bluster, all the jokes, and all the teasin, I want to really applaud everyone involved who have ensured this tournament is going to go down in history, no matter who reaches the semi's and finals!!

You guys haven't seen me then. I'm still sulking and picking up all those toys I threw out of the pram
I guess it helps having the other Home Nations and Ireland still in it. I do slightly worry if they're all knocked out in the QFs it'll all go a bit flat.

While we're on the subject; Newcastle for Scotland-South Africa, both sets of fans were brilliant and the Toon itself was most welcoming and friendly .

I t seems that at every game there as been a full house sell out.
I was supprised how many neautral fans have been at the games for Japan, Georgis, Nabibia. Irearlly hope it continuse for the rest of the tournament no matter who is in the tournament.

I agree, I think northern England fans have proved they will support their nation as much as the capitol!!!
I see why Wales, and Scotland do so with geography etc... but England have a wealth of support all over the nation, and fair play to them!!

Perhaps you guys don't know this but we are capable of travel up here
I seem to remember reading something about the RFU having more games in Manchester (Manchester was specifically mentioned). Back to the good old days when England games were played in Yorkshire

Re: Credit where it's due!
I would like to see England playing games outside of Twickenham - think uruguay match was first since 97 vs NZ?
Only problem is that such a match loses RFU over £1m. I think it is a cost worth bearing but understand why the bean counters may not.

This is one of the reasons I've smiling from ear to ear now that Wales are out. Nothing against the Welsh side, but some of the 'characters' on here means following their departure the schadenfreude does tend to kick in.mikey_dragon wrote:Too bad their fans haven't acted the same.

And you're one of the reasons I posted it, and you're proving it yet again with more petty posts - I don't know why you're even allowed on here given you're history on THE 606. I would hate to be you just for a day Cyril, especially when you're supporting a team that's the first to get dumped out of their World Cup. I'll be off to Cardiff for some food now. Ta-ra.

That's because secretly we all knew we were rubbish and didn't deserve to go through.

Without wanting to pander to our 606 mummies and daddies too much
I also think credit where due should be given to the mods as well. With emotions running high a fortnight back things could have boiled over quite easily but I think the mods have dealt with an often ridiculous volume of posts at certain times very well.
It's a fine line between emotive debating and things bubbling over. From what I've read I think they've done an excellent job of finding that line and keeping posters to it whilst allowing the debate and general discussion/chat to flow.
All round

Jeezus Mikey will you give it a rest? I don't care if you disagree with Cyril (or anyone else for that matter) but every country on here has a handful of fans who are total helmets; a fact acknowledged by their own. I can't begin to imagine who might be Wales representatives.mikey_dragon wrote:And you're one of the reasons I posted it, and you're proving it yet again with more petty posts - I don't know why you're even allowed on here given you're history on THE 606. I agree with the OP and have to congratulate EVERY country's fans. Remember that it's not been only English fans filling the grounds. It seems to have been fantastically well organised (except for Australian citing guys, anyway )
