Roger Lewis hangs the new WRU out to dry

You have gotta love him don't you, as he leaves he know announces to the world that the WRU can now afford to get all the Welsh internationals back, if the new people in charge do not get these players back then they will be seen as to be blamed. He's a canny old operator is old Rog. Why announce this now ? Why hasn't he brought these players back when he was in charge ?

Because the WRU has made a bit of money from the RWC? Wasn't there something reported recently about a £10m windfall?

There is not a WC every year though, Roger Lewis/WRU always had this money, he was just more interested with paying off the stadium debt and keeping the banks happy. Thus ensuring he had a nice wedge of a bonus each year. He did not give two friggs about the rugby in Wales other than the Welsh side itself.

Yes, but now the RWC has given the WRU the opportunity to bring back those players. So that would be why Lewis is making his statement.

The money saved on Roger the Dodger's inflated salary and bonus will certainly help!
