What do you mean, Federer has announced he will keep playing for 4 years? Is there a news report showing this?

If he wants to play till 39 that's ip to him. In practice he'll go until he falls off a cliff play wise

After the match he said "I hope I'm here next year, and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that"

That could mean he is playing the doubles or presenting an award or in the commentary box or in the crowd. I don't think he will be in the top 8 players at age 39. Then again, it wouldn't be a major surprise. It's actually believable.

Personally I reckon that the year Federer fails to qualify for WTF singles should be the time to bring down the curtain (whether or not the great man would agree with me .....I dunno .....!)

He will most likely make it once more with reasonable comfort. But beyond 2016 .......who knows .....?
