Re: World Tour Finals (WTF!) 2015 - Day 6 (was Day 5!)
Unlikely that Djoko will slip up again. He's had his bad match and it's just a wonder that he's gone on so long without a banana-skin performance. Kei looked much better in his last match but Fed should be too strong for him and will want to win the group in any case.

If Djoko wants to get back on track, then Berdych on a court like this is about as good as it gets for him. Few players offer a better match up for him.

Federer is growing a beard and will only shave if he wins the WTF 2015.

Haddie liking something about Roger?
There's a first
Amazes me how Nishi matches up well with Djokovic and Federer but bad with Gasquet x Murray

Contrary to belief I do not hate Roger, there are things I dislike about him.. I admire and respect his achievements, but I do not like his style of tennis.
Wish the same code applied to Nadal on this forum But then I also wish there was a Santa

Yes, he beat Fed too, 2 days ago as you guessed correctly...NOT!
Agree, Berdy is a joke. But let's see Djokos nerves, if he misses a few shots and starts smashing racquets, will be fun as Berdy can hit big when in mood (rarely).

Oh come on, this evening's match isn't even going to be watchable - not even much for a Novak fan. Berdy is toothless on this indoor sponge.

LK, why you do this to me? Why you provoke me?
I have no carpet or cat and I shaked hand with Djoko and made him sign for a friend of mine at MC.
I don't know where you get this idea I don't like Djoko

HMM, quite right, except that you said in a serious manner, and kind of criticizing me for it.
So rephrase it with a smiley at least or something, loose some seriousness to it, and we are all good

Federer showing some of the lapses that punctuate longer matches these days.
I think he'll prefer Wawrinka to make it, Stan either blows you away or his head implodes. Meanwhile let Novak and Rafa beat each other to a pulp with endless rallies (hopefully Federer gets the first semi-final this year).

Right, now all that has to happen is Berdych beats Djoko in straights and we're all sorted.

Gutsy stuff by Kei to come back from 4-1 down in both the second and third sets. Some startling rallies and good athleticism from both players. Now Fed gets a day's rest, won't have to play Rafa in the semi and can let Rafa and Nole drain themselves with a long match in the other semi.

This Berdych-Djokovic second set has so much riding on it, I am on the edge of my seat. So many excitements to consider:
--will one of the ball boys slightly drop the ball
--which of the two shades of blue do I prefer
--will Boris Becker make a slightly funny facial expression at some point
I cannot understand why the commenting on here is not coming thick and fast.

Re: World Tour Finals (WTF!) 2015 - Day 6 (was Day 5!)
He may be through to the semi final but djokovic looks to have checked out mentally. I think the season has caught up on him and he will struggle to get past the semis at this rate.
This is a very different djokovic to the one we are used to seeing in 2015. Hard to blame the guy really, it has to be so tough to keep performing so consistently well and particularly knowing holidays await the end of this tournament with the season over. If I was him I would be hitting the pints already!
He looks somewhat disinterested this week

I said earlier that I would not be surprised if Rafa beats Novak on Saturday.
I'm now expecting it.
It's always hard work against Fed and a wobbly performance against him can be written off.
Labouring against Berdych is unusual.

Re: World Tour Finals (WTF!) 2015 - Day 6 (was Day 5!)
They have released the schedule for Saturday and that's definitely correct, but it was the obvious choice anyway once it was clear that Nadal had topped the group so the winner of Friday evening's match would play the winner of the other group. No need to schedule Wawrinka or Murray to play Fri eve then Sat afternoon. It Must Be Love wrote:I've got tickets for Saturday lunchtime, are you sure of this ???bogbrush wrote:Dammit, Federer gets his semi on Saturday night ahead of Sunday while the infinite energy guys get to play earlier.

So unusual he did it in the very last tournament before cruising to the title. Rafa won't lay a finger on him in the SF. Fed in the final may be more tricky but, when it matters, Novak wins that match up. There's slightly more uncertainty than there was at the start of this tournament but Novak is still a long distance better than everyone else. It will require a really poor display for him to fail.

Re: World Tour Finals (WTF!) 2015 - Day 6 (was Day 5!)
I am surprised to see that Murray is favourite (but not by huge margin) with the bookies for tomorrow's match (I know there is a Brit element to the odds I'm looking at, but would not expect a big bias by people betting on individual matches rather than having a flutter in a tournament). I would see Wawrinka as the favourite having finished well against Ferrer, but I would think no-one would be surprised if it was competitive for a set and then whoever lost checked out mentally after that.

Hmm, that's very confident! I haven't watched Nadal much recently until yesterday. My thoughts then were that he was looking very good, but could still see some areas that a clinical Djokovic could exploit. I just don't know if clinical Djokovic is here after the last 2 matches though I guess that putting down a marker against a resurgent Nadal might focus the mind.Born Slippy wrote:Rafa won't lay a finger on him in the SF.

The problem for Rafa is that unless Djoko is a bad as the second set of Roger, his shots WILL break down sooner, he will have to keep hitting the dtl and come forward just as well as he has been this week
