Froch vs Kovalev/Stevenson
Froch's been making noises again about coming back - this time as a light heavyweight (he floated the idea of meeting DeGale at 173).
How would everyone fancy his chances against the top two at the weight (until Ward establishes himself there)?
Kovalev vs Froch would be some punch out.

Kovalev out guns froch for me. I think the unthinkable happens an Carl gets stopped late.
Carl ko's Stevenson, his chin keeps him in the game long enough to catch him.

He had the chance for all of these fights not long ago. Now that hes retired I guess he will calling out everyone from the sidelines.

Let's be honest, a run at ligh heavy would be quite exciting for the fans, though he should steer clear of Kova imo.
Would love to see him knock out Stevenson.

Thought he said a number of times he was too small for light heavy as he walks around at just over the SM limit.
Kovalev would flatten him.

Also said he's put on a bit of muscle since retiring.
Would secure bona fide legendary status, a win over Kovalev, I think. Would top his career off very, very nicely.

Froch will say anything to keep his name in the news. Prepare yourselves to hear him declare he could beat any Jedi or Sith through history when the new Star Wars is in cinemas.

I do like Froch but he's 37 now and will be almost 38 by the time he would be fight ready. Hardly the perfect age to have a go at the LHW title

If he did beat either he'd surpass JC. Quite a bit thing for him so I'd have thought quite a temptation.
Think Kov goes through him though, less than 10 rounds, Superduck more interesting. Froch has a chance there but Super's power and speed still make it 60:40 in his favour for me.

DeGale needs to perform against Bute, can't just eke out an untidy points win if he wants Froch back out. But some nice fights for DeGale if Froch stays retired or moves up with the likes of Cox and Ramirez coming through.

He isn't getting Froch...
Froch is stuck in Calzaghe's shadow like he always has been.
Chucking out meaningless comeback noises is his way of trying to stay relevant..
He's yesterday's man...and Degale and Smith have the floor now..

There's a thought, Smith vs Jamie Cox. Just don't tell Steffan, Cox's mother is Welsh.

He retired at the right time but you could tell he'd find it hard to leave it go.
Said a few weeks ago I thought he might try light heavy. The big fights are ones he'd lose though. Kovalev and Stevenson both stop him for me. I'd want him to win in both but find it unlikely. Both big steps up from Groves.

Does anyone seriously think froch would be that much better lhw than bellow or clever at lhw that he'd stand a chance at kov or Stevenson? He gets murdered by both.

Either do it or don't. He's starting to annoy me even more than his brother during his retirement. At least when he was fighting his ring performances made up for his mouth.
Beaten by both for my money.
