Taller..bigger reach.....If he has any sense he'll try to catch Wlad lunging in and tie him up If he doesn't..
Then again he hasn't got any sense..
I agree - everything in the build up points to him leaning away, countering and moving.
I bet if Fury leans back he'll overextend end his torso, drop his hands, peer over his gloves, and leave his chin in the air. Then get put on the seat of his shorts by a long left hook. He needs to employ the Scouse Lay Back for it to work and be in a position to counter.

The closer it gets the more I don't rate Fury's chances...
Those that want Fury to win are like defence attorneys trying to fight an overwhelming case.

Appreciate you said the closer it gets you cant see Fury winning, TRUSS... but didn't you write a thread giving him a great chance a month or so back? What's changed? If anything Fury looks like he's done all he can do to prepare and Wlad has done what he always does.
I still think Wlad heavily but what's changed your mind?

Having seen a bit of the build up I'm surprised at how relaxed Fury is.
Seems like he either expects to win this or he knows this is a lottery winning fight pay wise.
Can't help but think Fury is going to do something nuts in the ring though.

He's there to win. That puts him in a bit of an exclusive club.

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
The problem I have is working out how Fury can win. He's in Wlads territory so I think given Wlads boxing fundamentals he will win enough rounds to 'justify' a points win... even if Fury boxes well and generally beats Wlad to the jab it can't be one-sided enough to get the nod on the cards. Fury needs the knock out and I just don't think he has that sort of power of finishing skills.

I don't think he needs to land a big one - if he chips away at Klitschko (who is used to getting through fights while barely being hit) he can tire the old boy out. Povetkin had him absolutely bricking it prior to Wlad's Big Daddy act.
Let's be honest, Fury will need a great night to pull it off but he's got a chance. A real chance.

I hope you're right. He looks like he's taken training seriously, given himself the best shot he can in his prep and is talking a good and confident game so who knows.

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
Am mainly curious seeing Wlad fight without being able to lean on and wrestle his opponent. And maybe even be beaten to the jab occassionally (he won't be able to simply lean out of range like he did versus Haye).
Just hope Fury doesn't get spark early...

I agree he has a chance, the closer it gets the more I believe he can do it.
I just think Wlad raises him game to the opponent, however this time he doesn't have the physical advantages he usually does
The ridiculous grappling he got away with against Povetkin won't work against Fury

Looks like Fury will box and move. It will be interesting to see if he can make Klitschko lead (he'll be desperate not to).

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
does anyone have a picture where Fury has three inches on Wlad? For all the talk of his size advantage, I'm yet to see a side by side where this is particularly evident, and they look about the same height in the weigh in. Also, Wlad is only one pound lighter and Fury still looks a little soft so I'd be surprised if he can bully Wlad or end up on the right side of clinching contest

Always picked Wlad mate but I do give Fury more of a chance than many on here.......
I'm going for Wlad to come through a couple of sticky moments to win in the 8th round..
When Tubbs, Witherspoon, Page used to weigh 235...........They were called slobs.....
Amazing how the heavies have evolved............
This rate in 30 years time they'll all be 7ft and weighing 310..........

There are a few on here who believe he'll try and overpower Klitschko Pee Wee. Obviously not you. You'll have analysed this in slow motion have you? Those 18 months you've spent watching boxing have turned you into a real little expert.

He has me totally sold that hes going to really go for Klitscho here! I dont think I have ever looked forward to a Klitschko fight more!
With all due respect to Fury when has he ever fought like this? In all his best wins he's fought cautiously behind the jab, generally going the distance. I don't think he's that big a hitter. Hard to see beyond Wlad points or late stoppage. But lets hope Fury is good as his word as win or lose we'll finally see a decent Wlad fight.

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
Been going back and forth with this fight, even though my initial hunch was that Wlad wins comfortably. Just so many people backing Tyson and a heck of a lot of hype coming from IFL TV, I'm starting to think I've missed something with him. But I was disappointed with the look of him at the weigh in and don't share the view of many pundits and boxers that said he looked in great shape. Even though he weighed in at 247lbs, he looked fleshy. Granted, he's never going to look ripped, but I've seen him look in better condition than this before - Chisora 1, Rogan, Del Nascimento, etc.. Strange.
Anyway, have a feeling Wladimir keeps it long and uses the 24' ring well and starts to catch Fury coming in, eventually nailing him with either a right hand or that left hook that he seems able to throw from out of nowhere. Wladimir KO 9. Difficult to see him get much credit in the aftermath though.

You're spot on. I expect Fury to box from range and only go gung ho if Klitschko hurts him (he will want to go out on his shield).

I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I can't help but think that ALL the opponents Fury has faced to date have been at least 2 levels beneath Wladimir and there's no addressing of this whatsoever by any of his team. Also, I feel that too much importance is being placed on this "Old man getting retired by the young man" mantra even though Wlad looked in excellent shape today - Doubtful he will grow old in the next 24 hours. Peter Fury was saying how Tyson was in the "best shape ever", then at the weigh in that was clearly contradicted, what else have they said that you now have to wonder might have been delusional? It seems like the Fury camp are placing all their eggs in one basket and there's no balancing of reality in their words. Certainly not anything that has been put out by IFL TV anyway.

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
I think Tysons done about right with the weight. He wants to ensure he's not too light anyway as he doesn't want to be out muscled... although wlad, Joshua, Haye and Briggs could all enter Mr Universe and not look out of place. Wilders top half would also get in but he'd have to convince the judges hed been in a wheelchair for the past year and only just started walking again. Got to say, for a man near 40 Wlad does put shame on the most of the younger guys.

Re: Wlad v Fury - predictions?
Marlonz, I see what your saying but as a man nearing 40 myself I have a six pack and look the sportsman now, when I was younger I carried a bit more wobbly timber despite being into exorcise. My younger self would beat me hands down these days. Muscles and a sixpack can disguise the deterioration of the engine and joints running the show.
