Lots of injury to Ulster players which shows how tough Edinburgh are to play against!

Unfortunately they have been freak injuries bar the Darren Cave one. I don't think that is relatable at all really.
I should add of course that Edinburgh have been extremely physical, especially in defence.

It could cost us. We have been much better tonight but not nearly clinical enough.

Almost glad I was working late and couldn't get to the game tonight thats and awful night out there. The wind would take the head of you so it's not wonder kicking into it is so difficult for them. This is going to be an immensely tight last 11 minutes
Re: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby, 4 December
Inexperience from Kinghorn - we've not played the territory game well this half - too much rugby in our own half

Commentator arguing it happens all the time well I'm sorry but that doesn't make it right. Think the ref is spot on just a pity for Luke really. Silly by Henry

Absolutely pathetic to kick that ball away from Fowles after a turnover

Re: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby, 4 December
Well that was tight, Edinburgh extremely physical, you guys came and saw and very nearly conquered. Ulster injuries are once again mounting henderson and cave are important players we could do with them not being out long. Wind played havoc with the game but we looked better than previous games I'd say. slightly better at the breakdown and in defence and we offered a bit more in attack. Luke Marshall did well and Kyle McCall was excellant in the scrum. Think Lutton has probably moved ahead of Herbst. McCloskey looked good and Williams is definately a lot better this year. Toulouse next week will be an interesting test.

What on earth was that Fowles, gave the ball away. Silly silly kick

Re: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby, 4 December
Tell you what - that was a fantastic game given the conditions.
Gutted we didn't get more out of that - I think a draw would have been as fair result - but glad we at least got a point.
Herculean defensive effort but we just didn't play smart enough rugby over the 80.
Well done Ulster!

Good feisty match. Good officiating by the ref.
Well done Ulster and hard luck Edinburgh - they could have won that.

That was a cracking game, especially given the conditions.
Well done Ulster, a good second half and deserved the win. Edinburgh will be thinking what if, but at least took a point away.
Lack of composure again cost Edinburgh, but there was still a lot to be pleased about. They really do need a playmaker though!

Fair outcome based on the teams. Thought the ref had a strong game - miles better than Mitrea.
Fowles is an idiot. So is Andy Nicol.

McCall a good choice for MOTM from Ulster's PoV. He's got a future playing like that.

I though McLosky was MOTM - he caused absolute carnage when he came on.

Pinear and McCluscky were the stand out players for Ulster, a player who can control a game is invaluable on a night like this

Re: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby, 4 December
From an Edinburgh PoV I thought Scott, Du Preez and Hardie had very good games. Kennedy did pretty well given he had the half into the wind. The front row were disappointing - they desperately need a rest next week. The reserve front row did well when they came on.
We desperately need a 10 though, and the least said about Fowles' cameo the better!

Good game. Well done Ulster in an incredibly physical match. Ref good, but seemed to miss a few forward passes.
Enjoyed that despite the results.

Delighted with that. We lost Hendo, Nelson, Cave, Tuohy and just kept rocking. Kyle McCall is the front rower's front rower. He had Nel's number. I did laugh when they had Chris Henry there for his MOTM interview - McCall: "eh, yeah, no, great that we won... eh... I like scrummaging".
Thought we were comfortably better than Edinburgh - sorry Capital City fans. Really, really tough game - great watch, which given the weather, is a real testament to both teams' endeavour. That could have so easily turned into a slodge-fest, instead it was exciting and neither team gave an inch.
Finally - brilliant refereeing. Well done that man.

Re: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby, 4 December
I'm going to reiterate that- brilliant reffing. There was an Edinburgh throw from a line-out that ended up outside the Ulster players' outside shoulders - he played on because it was thrown straight, and carried by the wind. And shouted that instantly to the players. He wanted a wide angle to see if Chris Henry chancing his arm for Marshall's non-try had actually affected play, rather than just disallowing the try automatically. He was right there for Clive Ross over the line and made his decision - he didn't need any TMO.
It is must certainly not a coincidence that that was a great game and he did a brilliant job. Was great with the scrums as well. If he could let play go, he did.

Not a travesty, but a surprise, for me. Superb in defence, but I thought Edinburgh looked very short of ideas in attack. Great kick for the try, but I was much more worried about Ulster giving away our traditional stupid, needless penalties than Edinburgh scoring another.
Still, good game.
