Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Benteke literally the worst composure of any striker at the club. Another golden chance that seemed unmissable late on the seal a victory, another time he bottles it. Just think when he has too much time to think he makes bad decisions, on the split second ones he is very good.
Happy man though, back to back 1-0s and we are looking in OK shape once again.

Certainly miss Benteke's goals at Villa.

No doubt he can score them. Especially in a system that builds to his strengths. Just think when he has to much time it affects him negatively. Better on instinct.

AFC Bournemouth can confirm the signing of Juan Iturbe on loan from AS Roma, subject to FA endorsement and European work permit.

West Ham 1-0 Liverpool though should have been a free kick at the opposite end prior to the counter attack and goal.

Replay showed Moreno getting the ball before contact Dolph, was a free kick but still crap defending.

Lanzini should have made it two with a cracking strike.
Coutinho looking more like a Sunday League player than a potential Worldie currently.

So painful having Benteke upfront, just doesn't suit the style of play.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Behind after a foul but in truth west ham been the better team. Real easy stuff, get it out wide, cross it in, Liverpool breakdown, repeat. Sick of this constant inability to defend this type of play.

I'd love someone to explain to Benteke that he doesn't have to stand still at the back post every time we cross the ball.

Seems so, although it's one of those where he isn't taking him out and no chance the ref can see.
Read an article the other day blaming the playmakers rather than Benteke and I entirely agree. Too much of what they do is similar, both the players style of play and the way they play the ball

So far in this game we can see that Benteke can't run, control the ball, use peripheral vision, win Arial challenges.

You're blaming the playmakers for Benteke standing still for 90 minutes?

To be honest, a lot of people doubted he'd step up to the level of Liverpool & the expectation of playing for that club. Same thing with Carroll, their play does not suit target men, so it's hardly rocket science, that he won't fit the system. Waste of money.
This year is a write-off for Liverpool, playing like this. Klopp needs the summer to begin his work, then you can judge.

It's the way they tip tap around. It's not easy for a striker to make runs into congested space with slow build up.

What 'high-tech technology' (their words) do the commentators think is available to treat a nose bleed?

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
The fact he doesn't move doesn't make it easy for him Dolph, maybe if they saw a run they'd play the pass. We've seen them do it when Sturridge has made runs, so that excuse doesn't wash for Benteke.

Liverpool literally can't defend anything that comes into the box at height. Crosses, corners, free kicks, throw ins. Just have mare after mare.

It's the same with Martial with us, he starts a game making run after run to no avail and then drops off .

Genuinely believe without injuries Benteke would be our 4th choice striker. Which for the price tag is an absolute disgrace.

Just watch Ibe out wide and you'll see why Benteke has looked blunt. Has space to cross, takes touches, tries to beat a man to create space. If defences fear the cross then they are gonna leave more space elsewhere
