Typical United, just keeps the LVG ball rolling though, when in reality, their terrible & going nowhere fast. Would be another waste of a spot in Europe, if United got it. Much rather see a young, energetic Spurs side play in the elite competition.

You make excuses if you want but your teams inability to defend set pieces is what undid you not luck.

Not really a fluke, good header by fellaini and Rooney reacted quickest

You don't think there is luck in the ball hitting the bar and falling to Rooney? Really?
Sorry forgot, it was a United goal. Any other team in the league scores that you're calling it lucky.

The fact that Rooney didn't have a player anywhere near him was frankly Sunday league level defending.

Rooney reacted to it quickest simple as that but I forgot because it's the mighty Liverpool there must be some reason they conceded rather than admitting you cannot defend.

It's hardly a fluke if a player hits the bar from a corner and another scored the rebound.
Preventable yes, Flukey no.

Oh and add to my comment that 4, yes 4 Liverpool players tried to beat Fellaini to the header (and all failed), which then left Rooney in acres of space.
That is not 'luck', that is amateur defending.

I should go back in time and complain about Newcastle's lucky equalizer which of course it wasn't.

What ever mate, it was a lucky goal unless you're telling me it was planned by Fellani?
Can't win if you don't score, and we desperately need a good striker. Benteke is fecking awful, and I'd rather see young Sinclair given a go even if it's off the bench than that useless waste of space.
Sums up our last two years.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
A fluke is an improbable occurrence that is unlikely to occur again.
A ball hitting a crossbar for a striker to then react quickest to is not a 'fluke'.
Utd playing to attack v Newcastle though could possibly be defined as a fluke.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Not bitter at all, like I said can't win if you don't score. Both teams were pretty average, and without De Gea it could have been a very different story.
Have to wonder if Madrid will come back in for him and actually get it completed this time, be very interesting for United if they do.

Two embarrassingly poor sides in world football, it's really not worth a lengthy debate about.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Yeah Liverpool were the better side, United the more clinical. Not sure you can make any judgements of Benteke from that game and at least he's been consistently scoring. Jerome Sinclair is certainly not the answer Paul, he's much, much worse than Benteke, the same faults without any of the positives.
I think Van Gaal will keep going so long as he keeps winning, but didn't look comfortable at any point. All the players looked terrified of going off-script, it was constant of sideways to sideways, backwards and backwards. Have to keep hold of De Gea, so whoever comes after Van Gaal has a foundation to work on.

Not saying Sinclair is the answer buddy, just that I'd rather anybody but Benteke as he offers about as much as a fart in a wet suit.

Liverpool paying the price for buying a bunch of mid table players - you become a mid table team.

Shame to be down to 6th, although with City up next and Aguero back to life I'm expecting a defeat and a tumble down a few spaces anyway. Does keep the cushion on Liverpool and if Arsenal can beat Stoke it will be an OK weekend to have lost.
Not sure a player hitting the bar against you and a follow up from the rebound is flukey or lucky though

I agree it's stupid however I can kind of understand there reason.
Wenger and Arsenal fans reaction to Shawcross after the tackle was disgraceful, as if a fellow professional goes out to breaks someone's leg. It's stokes reaction to the whole fiasco.
The whole thing is daft.

Yeah you wouldn't be happy about it, but if the player is continually apologetic, visiting the player in hospital etc, one must accept these things can happen in football.
If the player acts a complete tw*t about it, having no remorse, then that's a different story

Quite honestly I couldn't give a hoot if he said he was sorry - I'd still be p1ssed - those tackles aren't things to accept in football at all - kinda why they're met with red cards and 3 game bans.....

The tackle wasn't at all bad which is why I found the reaction pathetic, as it was after the Taylor/Eduardo incident.

Indeed. Like I say if you play football, these things can happen, if it's a bad tackle, good strong tackle, even if you just fall down awkwardly.

I have to admit I didn't buy the hype from the little I had seen of him before this season - but he's proven me 100% wrong. He's the real deal - by far the best keeper in the league this season imo. On top top form

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Can't help thinking the Premier League standard is very poor this season. Poor players plus poor tactics have added up to some utterly unmemorable matches. I know some are saying that it's close at the top due to a rise in standards all round. I would say that it's close as there has been no outstanding team.
Too many sides confuse possession with penetration. Some of the football has been pedestrian in the extreme. Some teams think it's five-a-side and you're not allowed to kick a ball more than 10 yards.
To think we were bemoaning route one soccer a while back. Now everyone seems to want, crablike, to pass sideways and backwards.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Arsenal's main rivals are Man City. City won, Arsenal didn't, so to say that's a good point is incorrect. Stoke were off it today too there for the taking & didn't have Shaqiri either.

Stoke have beaten city, United and Chelsea at home.
Arsenal were missing ozil.
It's a good point, Stoke had chances to win it.

It's two points lost to Man City. Delusional to think that was a good point, in the overall picture of the title race.
