No surprises that Carrick starts and everyone plays better.

caught stoke at a good moment, their really down in the dumps after exiting both cups. sense it will be difficult for hughes to get them pumped up now for the rest of the season, as a top 4 is now out the question.

I actually think Sakho might be the worst centre back at Liverpool right now, and yet I imagine he's the best paid.

best chance to win a title in years, so wenger buys an egyptian midfielder not ready for the PL action & no striker. just have to laugh.
can manchester united catch arsenal for fourth?

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
We are in serious serious trouble - if we don't win on Saturday I'm officially resigned to us going down
Pinto is the most brain dead footballer ever - Klose looked decent tho tbf. Need to get Ruddy back in goal, if only for a bit of leadership on the pitch - There's no difference between him/rudd anyways
Spurs were good tho - Kane's movement exceptional, Dembele dominant in midfield - Alderweireld solid as a rock at the back too

First time I've seen him live since he played for us - looked the real deal to me. Movement, power, fairly quick too. And obviously bang in form at the moment. Very impressed
Dele Alli also very good - he's a lot bigger than he looks when you see a game on TV.

There's a lot to go but somehow when Spurs don't win I'm surprised yet Arsenal is always a bit of a non event. Matches with Leicester, City, Liverpool and dare I say West Ham will be where the big news is made

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Kane is 100% the real deal. Said it last season, too many people wanting him to fail. He's English and we actually have a decent player! Haters please keep hating.
Also about to take my empty bottles to the bottle bank, I'll probably see the Arsenal team there.

Who are all these people that are hating Kane nick.
You keep banging on about it.
Am sure england fans want him to do well with the euros a few months away.

In fairness to Nick there were a fair number on here that were speculating he was a one season wonder at the end of last season, not hate so much but there was an air of hoping he'd fail.

Amusing to think that in 11 days the Arsenal v Leicester game will be one that decides the title.
Arsenal win and there will be no stopping them. If Leicester win, the same surely applies.

Think its 2 from Norwich, Swansea & Sunderland.
Bournemouth i think will be good and fancy Newcastle to come good in the end.

I keep thinking Newcastle will come good, but then keep remember Schteve is their manager and how badly derby did in the run in under his leadership - really don't think he's upto it

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Swansea are showing more fight than any of the others, which is probably the most surprising. They have skill and neat play, but I didn't think they'd have grit. Paloschi was reportedly excellent last night too.

They've had more grit, less style since Monk took over tbh.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Ashley has spent the money, so will pull trigger on McClaren pretty sharpish now, possibly after the WBA game, if we don't win. Problem is, the favourite is Brendan Rodgers, but anything is better than McClaren.
Agree on Swansea, luckily Norwich & Sunderland look awful, so I'm still confident we can beat the drop.

Swans draw away felt like a defeat tbh. Would've taken us above WBA and a bit more daylight. A lot more determination now under Gaudolin and there is a actual decent striker at the club.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
I actually think Rodgers would be a good appointment for Newcastle, kept Swansea up comfortably in their first year with a squad which wasn't exactly filled with quality. Would be working under a bit less pressure as well.

Not sure Brendans the man id be looking to come and drag out of danger. Certainly not with a squad that doesn't really fit his style of play

Yeah, I wouldn't say he'd be a great choice to save them now, but in the summer I think Newcastle could do a lot worse.
I actually think when you look at his first Swansea Premier League squad it was worse than what Newcastle have to work with right now.
