You know I'm right, but don't want to admit it.

2 tries every 80 minutes of rugby and MOTM every game he's played. Unstoppable.

2 games, 2 tries to date and an England U20 call up, could do worse, they could pick Haskell

In all seriousness, great kick early and great take and offload there.

Given his size and skill set he could be a big name at 12 going forward or he could fail to kick on and be the next Twelvetrees. Be interesting to see how he develops.

To be honest, any English player who looks half decent at 12 could probably get a game!
On greenwood, I was chatting with a mate the other day and while he was very very good for England, my memory of him at Leicester is that he was a bit so so and left because he couldn't make the first team anymore? Just shows what a change of scene can do.

Just shows what playing 12 at Quins can do for you. Just ask Jamie Roberts shame he plays for the enemy

When he left we had Howard at 12 and Smith or Lloyd at 13. That was some talent at centre.
I think Devoto lacks a little bit of pace for the international game and I'm not sure he'll tear up trees at Exeter either. Depends what kind of 12 England are after as I'm not sure we can have a Joseph or Daley at 13 without a hard running 12.

Re: Harry Mallinder for England and Lions Captain
I had a lot of time to watch the match again - snow is still coming down and we have over 2 feet already - and I am really amazed how young Mallinder played. He was caught out of position a couple of times and made a few mistakes, but in general was quite a performance for a 19 year old. He is already a big lad, and will put a bit more meat on his bones. Granted it is far too early to make predictions (except being England and Lions captain), but all signs are pointing in the right direction.

When Devoto broke into the Bath side he was playing FB as I recall. I thought he lacked a little pace in that position, but he's plenty quick enough to play 12. And the potential beauty of Devoto is he could be a hard running 12, as well as having a full skillset. Given the excellent coaching at Exeter I'm optimistic he'll kick on.
I didn't see the game, but it's good to hear Mallinder played so well. There are a few candidates around at the moment for 2019 - Hill, Devoto, Slade, Williams and now possibly Mallinder. Maybe, just maybe, there is light at the end of the 12 tunnel.........
And I forgot Tuilagi. I reckon his future is probably at 12, what with England having Daly and Joseph at 13, and with James emerging. I think James has many of the same gifts Daly has, perhaps without quite the same searing outside break but with more physicality - I think he could become a very special player.
England have got some real talent coming through in the centres.

Re: Harry Mallinder for England and Lions Captain
At 6' 5" he should be able to get the offload away and at what should be around 18st in a couple of years make good ground, especially if he doesn't lose his pace.
I wonder what the odds are on him playing for England becoming a Lion and captain, I am sure there have been crazier bets made.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sam James step up to international level, very impressed by him. Think he may move to 12 though as he did play 10 at age grade. All will depend on what Eddie wants in his midfield, the play making 12 or the pacey 13 with Manu probably taking whichever shirt is left.
On Manu he's played 12 with Tait out so far this season but today is playing 13 with Smith taking on the hard running role at 12. Good chance to show his versatility.

Who knows if it will happen, but James and Tuilagi would make quite an interesting centre partnership, as they could interchange easily.

Harry mallinder looks a superb player. Smart rugby head on young powerful shoulders. Stood out in the backline.
There are some very talented players coming through, mallinder, Clifford, Itoje and Underhill all impressing at European level.

Certainly looking better than Burrell at the moment, but that is not that hard to do.

Mallinder Senior had this to say:
Nevermind Luther, at least you are a decent 13 as well........
"It's nice to have a 12 who can kick, can take the ball to the line and can distribute."
