Back in the summer playing cricket. Had to wait 18 weeks for what I thought was an MRI. Turns out it was a knee specialist appointment who has now referred me to an MRI. Honestly she bent my knee the wrong way (hard) and I nearly fell off the bed it hurt so much.

Had similar experiences with the physio for my broken leg... in 3 places below knee, shattered meniscus. To test the flexion she bent it as far back as she could when I was lying face down. Should be around 115-120° normally but I was about 90-92° at the time. She got it to about 97°. Thought it was about to explode.

Then she tested the broken leg.

Yeah probably. Didn't mind it actually because I was totally unprepared for it and was relatively relaxed.

Most of the fear is in the mind, the pain was only for a split second or so. It was a good feeling leaving the physio knowing that I had gained another 5° of flexibility. It's probably 105-110° now after 8 years.

I can always feel it (nerve damage down left side of leg below knee) but I've learned to live with it. It's like a permanent 1/10 dull pain.

Copped some shrapnel which split his knuckle almost in two.

I had one joint from one toe and two joints from another toe cut off. I sometimes get an itch that feels like it is from the bits removed. I can't scratch it or anything.

So the itch is right on the end where the bits were removed or in space just beyond... but trailing back to the end bits?

Long story but I have a condition which causes hypertrophy of my left leg. Toes were too long so they chopped them off.

The itch when it happens feels as if it is coming from the pad beneath the toe nail only that part of the toe is gone.

On Sunday I've got a mens doubles league tennis match, which, if I get through it OK, will be a bit of a milestone - since the last two both ended up with me having severe anxiety attacks and a bit of a breakdown on court.

The key to avoiding anxiety is to understand one simple point. Pressure doesn't exist. I know it's trite but it's true. Also since you've gone through it twice before it could hardly go worse Laugh

1. Sit yourself down
2. Stick some music on - preferably something that gets you dancing - the link I gave to Sean might suffice
3. Lose yourself in the music.

Then let what you've done a hundred thousand times before happen by itself (Hitting the ball not servicing Mrs tino)

If that fails, just remember that no matter what is wrong, no matter how bad it gets, know that somewhere in luton, every time his wife leaves the room a man will be Slow w*nking to the voice of Adele. Things are rarely as bad as they seem to be.

What helped me was pills. Oh, and therapy.

Short term? Can't have a panic attack breathing slowly. Podcasts/Radio shows are also good as they are less emotive than music and you have to listen to the details. Plus laughing kills anxiety
