Too early in my book to consider canning Bowles and Maccagnan but certainly time for a full rebuild in NY. The way they've played down the stretch doesn't reflect well on Bowles.
Rex has to go surely. All he offers is coaching defense and that ain't working.
Doug Martin a healthy scratch. Not the first paid based on a contract year regret.

I think Bowles has to go - they've been utterly humiliated numerous times now - at least Cleveland has played hard all year, the Jets haven't cared since mid October. They're hot garbage.
Also see we've reached the "Sean Payton soliciting himself to other teams" phase of the year

The Jets roster stinks, Bowles did well a year ago.
Grigson and Pagano are the luckiest pair of clowns in the league. I include working for an addicted manchild in that.

So on Monday I'm a Dallas fan... which feels odd.
Thanks to NO's win over TB tonight, a Dallas win against Detroit would mean the Redskins would advance to the playoffs with a win against the Giants next week.

Sad for David Carr... three leg breaks, with 2 QBS, in one day is pretty bad going for the NFL

Behave. He's a second year guy with a sieve offensive line. Way too emotional, I agree, but give me a break with the Cutler bullcrap.

He needs to learn to look after the ball and give up on plays. Like Cutler trusts his arm too much. Cutler didn't learn, I think Winston will because he seems more plugged in (first in, last out type of kid) but I'd be slightly concerned

Flacco is like Eli, but doesn't pout as much.
I can see the Bills keeping Ryan if they finish 8-8 but it's unlikely. Bowles could well be gone, and a bad roster doesn't rescue him - they couldn't find a decent QB in a field full of them. McCoy is out because of consistency, not ability. He'll get another gig soon. Possible surprise sacking could come from Cincy. Injuries hurt them but they hurt themselves more. I can see Fox being ousted, but he may well get one more season. 6 firings seems the consensus but I can see 8 or maybe even 10 going just as easily.
I can see 3-4 of those fired getting another HC gig straight away, but the rest are headed for position/coordinator roles. There are some good coordinator candidates ready to step up. I reckon McDaniels will get another shot but he needs a good D already in place. Can't see him going to the Bills so Rams, Jax or SD maybe? Todd Haley also seems a candidate if the Steelers are willing to let him go, now he's clicking with Big Ben.

Doug Martin suspended 4 games.
Between that, injury and generally being cack, that contract is going well.

I can't figure Martin out. When he's on form he's almost unstoppable, as illustrated by him leading the league in YAC last season. But his head clearly isn't in the right place. With regard to the contract, at least this suspension will give him time to get his head in the right place and it'll also void his guaranteed money for next season.

He's been on form his rookie year and his contract year. That alone should be a red flag.

Agreed. Running backs are easy to come by, don't think the contract was a good idea at all.

I don't know. Skins v Giants and Packers v Lions both have prime slots and a lot riding on the results (at least for 3 of the 4 teams). Atlanta and Seattle want 1st round byes so will be going for the win, though Seattle could have an easy game against lame duck Kelly. Pats, Chiefs, Raiders and Phins all jockeying for position too.
Kubiak is the one surprise if he does hang up the clipboard. I get eth health reasons but I'm not sure he'll stay retired long at 55, unless there's more to his health he isn't revealing.

Somewhat predictably, seeing as it's a big game, the Redskins are laying an egg so far.

Nice to see Gruden is sticking to his "we have to run the ball matra".... first sign of trouble, the run has been abandoned entirely and Cousins is all pass happy.

It's really starting to look like we're going to get shutout in a game we must win to get in the playoffs.... will that ever have happened in the history of the NFL before? Playoff teams are generally good enough to avoid getting shutout. Are the Redskins about add yet another ignominious page to their recent laughing stock history???

There's 3 points... woohoo....it's a long way to victory if we're relying on not allowing the Giants to score again and kicking another 3 FGs. Pathetic offense... starting in Giants territory and only 3 points.

LOL! Couldn't agree more GSC... I hope when Cousins' agent walks in for contract negotiations, Scott McCloughan has this game and the Carolina game primed and ready to show them.

Cousins INT.... that's the contract up in smoke. If he gets one at all now then he better lower those demands by at least 5m a year. When we've needed him most this season, he's disappeared.
Can't wait for the post match presser.

It's not like we were going to win the Superbowl anyway so this ending is prob the most fun thing that could have happened... what on earth do they do in the offseason with Cousins now??? How on earth can his agent come in demanding 20m+ now??? If he's lucky, he gets the franchise tag.... it's not ridiculous to think now that the Redskins let him walk.
