He made Valuev swing and miss all night long. Floyd's done it for years against fighters but when he does it it's a masterclass. Oh well.......
Damaged hand v Valuev..
Damaged shoulder v Fury...
Damaged eye v Fury
Damaged toe v Wlad.....
Perhaps he should quit before his bad luck hits more vital areas !!..

We can't all be cast iron warhorses who'll take it to the trenches, draw lines in the sand and sort it on the cobbles but (blame it on volcanoes and jetlag)

We can't all lull thousands of hard working fans parting with hard earned money to Germany...knowing you aren't fit and can't apparently give it your best shot..hey Dave.

He did give it his best shot considering his debilitating injury! I was one of the aggrieved, I'd gone all the way to Leeds to watch it in a bar.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:We can't all lull thousands of hard working fans parting with hard earned money to Germany...knowing you aren't fit and can't apparently give it your best shot..hey Dave.

Hayes style is a primarily of a counter puncher which isn't so good imo for a man of Valuevs size. Holy had more variety and was on his toes using the whole ring and should have won..Haye nicked it because he just about made his work count more than Valuev..and to be fair Valuev was a horrible nights work for anyone. With a massive height, reach and weight advantage he would only have to basically competent to give most boxers real problems.

Vitali and Wladimir didn't unify with Valuev and both were active when he had a belt. Two brave men for you...left it to the little guys in Haye and Holy to take on the much much bigger guy...just saying!

It was an unfit and badly ageing Valuev that Haye fought. Still a lot of people, even the Sky and BBC teams had Valuev winning

The judges didn't though Lance and that is all that matters

The Sky team didn't have Valuev winning, Watt was scoring the fight how he thought the judges in Germany would score it. Not a classic performance but Haye clearly won.

Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Why does everyone forget what a thorough beating Chagaev gave him. And armchair, Valuev (and Don king) worked really hard to stay away from Wladimir then even turned down 2.5 million after losing to Haye to fight vitali. Just someone who has been out boxed by John Ruiz might be in fear of his life against either brother.

Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Valuev wouldn't have had a chance of beating either Klits, but to give Valuev he's due, he stated it was like negotiating with the devil, they had that many clauses in the contract, which I could well believe.ShahenshahG wrote:Why does everyone forget what a thorough beating Chagaev gave him. Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Haye said that also but when he came with a title (i.e. not demanding a free shot ) they agreed to 50-50 as they did with all the other titlists. Remember also that the person negotiating on Valuev's behalf was Don King who wanted options on Wlad. Valuev already had a title so it would have been 50-50. Then when he lost to Haye he opted to retire instead of fight vitali for a couple of million.
Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
ShahenshahG don't mind if I'm wrong...what a piece of work is Don King..Valuev could have made a lot of money fighting one of the brothers even if his stock went down after...

Haye was a lot more marketable than Valuev.....Who cared about Wlad v Valuev. ??
Haye v Wlad was a superfight.....Wlad could be generous.

Just stating what Valuev said about the negotiations, true or not, don't know.ShahenshahG wrote:Haye said that also but when he came with a title (i.e. not demanding a free shot ) they agreed to 50-50 as they did with all the other titlists. Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Yes - but Don king wasn't interested in making Valuev a lot of money - he as always was interested in making himself a lot of money and Valuev couldn't do that if he'd been beaten senseless by Vitali or cut to ribbons by wlad. I think he wanted to hold Valuev back until he could hold a stronger position but his performances against Ruiz, Holyfield and then Haye more or less scuppered that.

Aye I know but It made no sense because of the stuff I wrote in the above post. Why would they give less profile titleholders 50/50 without options then offer Valuev who brought more to the table a derisory offer and options. Answer is that they wouldn't.
Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
I don't know...the beast from the east v dr steelHammer...touch of panto about it but would sell to theuninformed masses. I would have liked to have seen how safety first Klitschko fought Valuev TBH just for the crack!

Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Could go either way with Wlad, either he outboxes him or he hurts him early then drags it out There was some speculation he gets paid by the round - I don't know how true this is. Valuev is easy to hit and even against someone cautious like Wlad that's a bad place to be.

Would have loved to see Valuev Vitali. Think Vitali ego was too big to hit and run. Could he have beaten Valuev in a toe to toe brawl? Wish it had happend

Somewhat insensitive of you to say that to a Bradford lad, Shah, especially seeing as there been a massive blaze here yesterdayShahenshahG wrote:I lol'd out loud Dave. Seems like everyone on fire these days. Makes judgement day seem ever so closer.

It was burning all day and into the night, still smouldering this morning. I heard Haye on the radio yesterday saying he is definitely fighting a top ten fighter. De Mori rematch?

Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
If it's so easy to pull a top ten ranked fighter out of the hat and get them to come over to the UK to fight then when why don't some of you guys try it? You make it sound so easy

Richard and Judy rate him quite highly but then again she's usually drunk and he's on the lookout for bargains in the wines and spirits department

Re: David Haye v Malik Scott - May 21st O2 Arena
Total mismatch due to Scott's questionable chin (or ability to take a huge paycheck and fall over *cough Wilder*) and the easiest way for Haye to get into the "Top Ten".
I think this will last maybe slightly longer than the De Mori fight. Haye will be rated by at least 2 of the organisations after this fight, but neither Wilder nor Fury will go anywhere near him. It'll be WBA or IBF for Haye.

I said previously that footage of Wilder being clowned by Haye in sparring will soon be doing the rounds on social media and Deontay will be dragged into another twitter war this time with someone with a better command of the English than a seven year old

Haha very good dave.
I actually don't think it's a terrible fight for Haye. He will move him up the rankings without any real risk and his mouth will move him up the other places to get him a title fight. I would have prefer ed a taller opponent though to prepare him better. A Hellenius type. But as dave points out its all about who's available. Quite a lot of fights already lined up.
