First topic message reminder :

Rules;
£150m budget with to be spent on anybody based on their value on TM.
Draft system to build the squads.
Squad to be between 20-25 players, no more, no less.
Tactics short, teamsheet, substitutes, 100 words of tactics, few sentences for substitutions.
Everybody votes or lose a goal from their score, just scores and scorers acceptable although feedback is encouraged.
Choose your own real life team name although this will have no bearing on the players you can or can't sign.

8 fixtures per team, 4 at home, 4 away. Two relegated from the Premier League, two promoted from the Championship.
3rd place in both leagues will playoff for the right to play in the Premier League.

I feel in these games young potential players are voted on what they can achieve in a few years time rather than what they're doing today in 2016.

There are some cases where these lads are proving it today but most are potential and won't hit it until a few years time.

Is it because Utd aren't in the CL anymore you don't know these players?

See it as a mixed bag.

Some of it is players who are past their best, some of it is older players still doing the business, some are young players playing well and some are young players who were flashes in the pan a few years ago.

I have no idea where that sits versus the rest of you as I haven't looked at the rest of the squads in any detail.

Not 100% sure on Trebs' bids, need to check when I'm back on the laptop, but the only clash I'm aware of is;

Both Olly and Viva bid £6m, both need to send a rebid for him via PM to me.

It is a mix of looking at potential and who is good at the moment. I agree with viva that some young players are overhyped after a good bit of form, but then i also agree with hero that some people don't look at current form and go for class of yesteryear.

It is difficult to strike that balance. For instance, today I would rather Cavani in my team than say Dybala or Martial. But i think those two players have the potential to be special, but in this league right now I have to give Cavani a higher rating.

Cavani > Dybala > Martial (more of a winger atm)

I'd have to agree with Trebs. It's not like Martial has actually shown any world class form yet, Dybala I don't know if the same applies. World class potential isn't the same as playing consistently at a world class level even if it's highly likely they will do.

I agree with Trebs.

I just don't see how either of Martial or Dybala can be judged better than Cavani.

I just used it as an example because i was discussing martial and cavani with hero before.

I'm sure you could apply similar logic to a lot of players.

I'd say being the 2nd best player in the Juve team (after Pogba) is better than being the 3rd or 4th best in the PSG team (after Ibra, Verratti & Silva).

I think he would get a lot more credit, maybe because of the higher price tag people just associate him as the expensive player who hasn't done enough to justify 60m but I would argue that 60m is a lot to live up to in his defence.

In Italy he was bang on, he's just always been in Ibra's shadow in France, albeit Ibra will put most players in the world in his shadow.

Dybala is way OP on fifa 16 ultimate team. Got upgraded from a 78 to an 81 this week. Cavani is too busy licking Ibrahimovic's balls (as said by Serge Aurier)

Both sides are pretty similar in level, both top of their respective leagues, both in the 2nd tier of CL teams after the big three, it's not an unreasonable comparison.

Personally I would have to say Cavani is better. Dybala is young so has plenty of potential to go on and be one of the best strikers, potentially even more so than Cavani.
