Joshua's next opponent
Who does everyone think will be AJ's next opponent? Was supposed to be announced today, but Hearn has said the is a contractual delay.
Must be someone half decent if there are contractual issues.

You wish more like, it will be a disappointment, like David Allen or Sam Sexton lol
The most adventurous fight they will take, could be potentially Hughie Fury, but even then I don't think they will risk their cash cow just yet......

Re: Joshua's next opponent
Allen is taking on Towers so at least he is out of the equation.
Hughie Fury would be good, but can't see it happening.
May even be Price.

The Martin fight seems relatively easy to make on the face of it. He is seemingly willing to travel to the O2.
I think Joshua beats Martin, but keeping hold of the title is another story.

Hughie isn't a risk. But doesn't offer the ca$h reward (yet).

It won't be Parker thats hopefully a future title fight.
It won't be Rogan or Sexton thats just regression
I think it will be Jennings.

Rogan was a mess about, but it will be that level of fighter.
Dave Allen in defence of his British title is highly likely.

Bah! Just read Dave Allen is fighting Richard Towers in March,....
Sam Sexton then, in defence of his British title.

Rather watch him fight Dave Allen (the comedian with a bit of his finger missing)

I'm not sold on Joshua quite yet but he'll beat Martin no problem. He's the sort of guy that wouldn't have got anywhere near a title in any other era.

Allen vs Towers will be one messy, scruffy, wobbly slobberknocker.

Re: Joshua's next opponent
You reap what you sow.....
Fact is Joshua vs relatively unknown Whyte did good figures on PPV.....Backing up the long standing theory exciting heavies sell big time and that some people will buy anything..
Hearn is a businessman..........Ideal to have Josh fight stiffs and then pick the easiest belt and fight stiffs after that....Because Whyte shows he doesn't need to fight anybody..
He'll milk Josh for all he's worth (who wouldn't) and then when the moaning starts will see if there are any Brits left around...
My guess is there won't be........
I didn't buy Josh v whyte..........But as Clev v Bell shows there are fans that will buy anything..

Cat seems to be out of the bag - looks like Martin in April for IBF strap.
Haye has tweeted he hopes to face Joshua in a "unification" fight next year. Must be going after Wilder (or maybe the regular WBA belt).

Looking forwards to a Brit smashing the living hell out of an America for a HW title.
Sets everything up well for Haye to win a few more fights before he gets his retirement payday and beating from AJ. Be a big event over here. Not mentioning Fury as Wlad will hopefully knock him queer in the rematch.

Re: Joshua's next opponent
Sheng, I think Martin is a good opponent for AJ. Southpaw. Powerful. Undefeated. Was clearly winning his last fight before the unfortunate injury to his opponent. The fact that he has a belt is a massive bonus and it forces AJ to step up in class a bit earlier than Hearn might have liked. As I've said before, the IBF enforce their mandatories, so AJ will have no choice but to take on top ten opponents.

Have you seen IBF mandatories ??
I'm sure the thought of fighting a future one will fill Joshua with dread...
Martin is a smart move for any "Businessman"........Looks as ordinary as the day is long and Josh can fill out big stadiums as a champion and cream in the PPV......till people start whinging...However PPV buyers seem to be very patient..

Truss, 4 of the top 11 than Teper who is banned include takam, Parker, stiverne and pulev. That's not a bad list of contenders and there would be no hiding from them for AJ. If he can beat that little lot, he deserves to then be in the mix for the likes of fury and wilder.

My guess is if he's forced to fight that lot he'll take on Haye and Fury sooner.....Have my doubts..

Have to agree with Truss that Martin wold be smart business, an easy belt followed by several PPV fights against opponents who's should pose no threat to AJ.

Re: Joshua's next opponent
Once AJ fights someone with genuine ambition he's going to get found out unless he puts the hard yards in. He's going to have to train as if he's fighting a young George Foreman and be prepared for anything because there are still plenty of flaws in AJ and if he does get a World title in April I'd be suggesting that his opponents go for it because he's by no means the finished article and they probably never get a better chance to pick up a strap. You're so-called seasoned pro's should be chomping at the bit to get a fight with AJ if he beats Martin.

Re: Joshua's next opponent
I can't say I'm sold on Joshua either. I think Hearn has done a good job parading him as the next British World heavyweight champion and someone who could unify the decision. Had a guy in the local boozer foaming at the mouth when talking about him and was talking like he was the second coming of Muhammad Ali. No he hadn't had much to drink just bought into the good job the media have done in building him up. I've reserved any judgement till he faces some tougher tests and improved as he is still relatively a novice. I just don't want a repeat of David Price all over again
