Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
They did very well to recover from yesterday morning and get 486.
I think Tremlett & Broad will bag a few before they get to 100. SL to get under 350 ... 344 to be precise!

600 ? You're hard to please , dummy half
I guess they might have made more , but for the sake of the match I'm happier with this score - too many runs tend to kill the game.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
This is going to be a big ask of Sri Lanka. There is still alot of play today and they are going to have to be very watchfull. I imagine that they will score very slowly.

The pressure was building but 14 off that Tremlett over put paid to that.

A bit odd to swap Broad with Finn. I thought Broad was bowling well.

Think they have all been a bit wayward actually...
Oops! Edge from Finn and Cook puts it down !
Broad back now - switched ends

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Piranha's lacking bite but Dilshan's looking decidedly dangerous.
The slow start most of us expected. This will be a session of toil for England, but I still think we should get a couple of wickets after tea.
Shame about the dropped catch - hope its not indicative of things to come...

Finn getting a bit desperate here and trying too hard. Line and length boys, line and length.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Finn is indeed pitching it up
Unfortunately he is also spraying it rather wide.
Think they have all been a bit impatient : time for some McGrath style bowling in the corridor...

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Finns bowling seems abit all over the place at times, as people have said he just needs to find the right line and length.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
SL have made an excellent start. Going to be tough to remove these two again today.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
England's bowling generally pretty wayward. ParVit and TilDil moving the score to 74 without any real difficulty.
Does seem we're trying too hard to intimindate them and bowl "magic" balls, instead of just getting the ball on target.

Congrats to TilDil on a pretty rapid and well-played 50.

Swann looking the most likely to get a breakthrough , though every now and then Broad produces a gem.
Finn with an end switch ... hope he has his radar working better

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Dilshan is a good player - and I guess he wants a big score here to make up for sending England in and seeing them rack up nearly 500.
Might get one , too.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Dilshan and Paranavitana nearing the 100 partnership. England not posing much threat too them to stop them either.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
What we need is a good old fashioned trebell curse to break this partnership.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Pretty good stuff from Sri Lanka. They were under extreme pressure but Dilshan has done a wonderfull jobe here in leading from the front. Could be on for a big score as well.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Hundred up for SL.
England desperately need the pitch to start doing something. ParVit and TilDil looking far too comfortable at the moment. Only Swann looking even remotely dangerous.
Match heading for a draw if this continues.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
Swann is posing problems for the leftie but needs a silly point.
Finn wasting too many balls ... I can see a pretty hefty total for Sri Lanka here.
Wonder what the odds are on a draw...

Tea on day 2. England will be disappointed not to take a wicket or two.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
There is some movement out there as well. Not alot but a seasoned bowler like Jimmy would have given these batsmen something to think about.

Not much I can do these, two two simply cannot get out.. ever!
As close to perfect a batting line-up as you could ever hope for.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka 2nd test debate
They are still not there yet Liam, alot of cricket still to be played. All it takes is 1 or 2 quick wickets and it can all change. Trebs is doing his best by posting a curse and that usually works.
