Do you think he still would have left if he'd known about the brand split coming? A move to SmackDown could have been a chance to reinvent him, but as far as I know Vince is still going to have a hand in its running so maybe not.

We talked about how big a missed opportunity Sandow was, but Rhodes really is a much bigger loss.

If the split was always a possibility surely logic would dictate waiting until a decision was reached, guys like Rhodes and Sandow could have even moved to NXT while guys moved to Raw and Smackdown to allow them time and space to reinvent themselves and come back to the main roster fresh

Meeh, I think a lot of them would have happened regardless and wouldnt have fit in even with the brand split.

Hornswoggle - an overused gimmick that has been seen in almost every role it could. - Go
Alex Riley - Could have been used in some capacity, decent enough in ring to help put people over. - Stay
Zeb Coulter - Again, a gimmick that worked once and didnt work when they tried to bring it back, but he could have stayed on in a backstage role, you dont turn away that kind of experience. - Stay, but not on screen.

Cameron - Garbage. Overshadowed by nearly every other woman on the roster, even in NXT - Go.
Santino Marella - Retired - Go
Wade Barrett - Already wanted out. - Go
Damian Sandow - Good in ring, good on the mic, hella over - Stay
Brooklyn Brawler - Dont know much about his role, so cant really make a judgement here - Undecided
Christian - See Santino - Go
Adam Rose - Gimmick never got over with the crowds outside NXT, damaged goods. - Go.

Sandow and Barrett are the two I think were a loss to some extent, and Rose could have been used. He clearly had charisma and could be a decent jobber.

I would guess Cody knew about the brand split, but felt the forced role as Stardust and banging his head against the wall creatively, plus his wife leaving and the potential to honour his father more appropriately by expanding his reputation and proving to WWE that he is better than what they have let him show - all that is so much more appealing.
