Frampton v Quigg - Fight Night
Amazed there is no dedicated thread for this fight!
Where is everyone watching it? Im at home, beer at the moment then onto the vino with a curry on standby.
Who have you got to win? Always thought Frampton would win this but have seen a calmness in Quigg this week that exudes extreme confidence. Frampton on the other hand has seemed tetchy at the press conference and weigh-in and seems to have used up too much energy in trying to get under Team Quiggs skin.

Not convinced either way but like you am leaning towards Quigg. Burnett looks good. Very slick, doesn't waste much.

I'm about to walk down to Langley Park to catch it at the cricket club. It's not the type of place you walk about after dark but needs must. Gutted I didn't bet on Lowe - had him eyed all week.
Think Frampton wins big the closer it gets. Opening rounds will be as tense as it gets.

Burnett does look very sharp against a genuine tough guy. Starting to show a decent inside game too.

Drinking cheap lager. Little man just put to bed. Can't wait.

Froch is starting to look very grey. Khan's suit is very sharp. That's my expert insight.

It's a beautiful contribution dipper. The sartorial merits of various members of the commentary team has been overlooked for too long on here.

Thought Johnny nelson's black shirt blue suit combo, is taking the awards tonight.
To be fair to dipper, his insight has already surpassed anything we'll get from halling

I didn't care for Johnny's choice tonight. A little jazzy for my tastes.

Fixed that for you rowley... Did you forget you were a professional Yorkshireman for a moment?

Jeff likes to think Jazz isn't mainstream so it can gel with his hipster tendencies. Like Classical books - everyone reads em no matter how crap they are so they can look down on new stuff. Rowley is in effect a Bieber and one direction fan.
Re: Frampton v Quigg - Fight Night
It was discussing lager that confused me milky. Not sure what is wrong with a pint of John Smith's nowadays.

I usually drink Cobra, bud or Guinness. With a wee brandy. Though I thought give me the Carlsberg. It's cheap and I've had much worse.

Ha, cheers Milky. I don't pride myself on boxing knowledge but I'd like to think I'm vastly more knowledgable than Halling.
Out of interest, has Watt announced who he's decided has won the main event yet? Tends to pick his winner in advance and refuse to budge, regardless of what happens in the ring.

Re: Frampton v Quigg - Fight Night
Nah although I do like Brains. A good few bottles of Old Heckled Spen plus a couple of bottles of Chardonnay to top up later. Haven't got to be in work until Tuesday so recovery time is good (although mate back from London for a week wants a session tomorrow)Rowley wrote:Brains Steffan?

Funnily enough my mate tomorrow (if I'm up to meeting him) loves that drink end of the night. Not my cuppa really but probably gets the job done I betPedro147 wrote:I'm on Jameson, ginger ale and lime.

Penderyn Adam, a Welsh whisky, which is genuinely lovely.
Anyway on a boxing related point, Dave Caldwell is an excellent trainer. Every fighter he has approves markedly fight on fight after joining him.

Sorry Milky. He is a Rotherham lad though, as he was also training a Donny fighter in the last fight I had to mention it.

Seems like a real bear pit type of atmosphere. How will Quigg take the boos and has Frampton put too much pressure on himself? Just about to find out...

For what he gets paid I'm sure he'll get over it reasonably quickly.
