Wales 4 - 0 France
Our under 18s beat their French counterparts 17 - 8 thanks to tries from Ospreys fly half Phil Jones and Ospreys open side Will Jones to add the victories of the senior, women and under 20's in the last week.
They play England next Sunday who they managed to beat last year thanks to a billy mcbryde try if memory serves me correctly

Shame that the Welsh university team didn't (yet) beat their French counterpart otherwise it would have been 5-0 maybe the women U16 did who knows
not sure why they played that game a week later than the others though keeping in mind there is an U18 European championship starting at the end of the month in Portugal. Previously France U18 beat England U18 22-10 at home and feature the sons of former Toulouse stars NTamack and... Trevor Brennan!

Hi who cares. Our Welsh Universities team hasn't been going for that long so I don't think they're that good. France on the other hand must have a very good universities team going by last year's results. As an aside it looks as if France still have strong junior teams so hopefully the future is bright, brighter than it is right now...
Where do you keep up with the universities rugby by the way?

Hi Mikey, I only follow the few university games through the FFR website really where they keep track of all of it. Sadly the media do not report much of it. Bear in mind that most of those players are contracted by clubs as well as higher education is sort of compulsory in most clubs to ensure some future for the average guys who won't make it pro.

I think some or most of our guys are contracted to a premiership team - if part of a regional academy then it's unlikely they would have permission to play. Still, I'd like to see some investment in the Welsh universities team, to an extent it could act as a Wales U20 third team. The team is also good for helping certain players get noticed; some of them can go on to get sevens contracts, etc. I think we'll improve as more and more young people continue to go to university.
