Can't disagree, Jones is awful. So bizarre as he was fantastic in numerous positions for us in his first season.
Big teams win in spite of referees, that's the difference.
West Ham got a result last week because of a poor ref, would be out of cup other wise.

Penalty decisions have been following you around lately dolph! Was slightly outside yesterday, though looked inside on first viewing.

Very frustrating mate! Maybe it's better we didn't get it, if we actually sat in the top four I might start to hope, and then it would hurt more when we didn't make it!

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Winning in spite of refereeing decisions is part of what makes a big team.
A decision against you now and then doesn't matter as much when you've top players and go on to win anyway.
If you have a lesser quality team and a decision goes against you that wrecks your only chance to score in a game then obviously you feel more aggrieved and it gets highlighted more.
All teams suffer from refereeing errors.

Flanagan captains Liverpool today. New contract and first armband in a matter of days, well done to the man. Came back from a torrid time with injury!

Looked very clumsy from Lovren, wouldn't have grumbled had that been given.

Long needed to wait a little longer, think Lovren was about to foul him, but went down too early so referee didn't give it. Let off really.

Great goal, think the keeper should maybe do a little better but still a very good strike by Coutinho.

Defoe so close. Colback got to be a contender for the derby's red card

Another great goal from Coutinho against Southampton, they must be sick of it.
Look a little exposed when Southampton going forward without the numbers in midfield, but then very dangerous going forward.

Great play from Origi in the build up to the second, very unselfish to play it to Sturridge as well.

A bit harsh to rule that out I think, but I'm not sure on the rules these days.

By moving out of the way Sahko became active so it was the right decision.
Not sure that was a foul by Lallana though, he slides to make the block and Betrand appeared to move in to Lallana.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Defoe was such a good signing. I'd have had him happily. Would have been good for so many teams on their benches. Even Tottenham and Man United would have a better squad for having him; Sunderland have the best goalscorer in the battle and it will be massive

Should substitute Lovren before he gets sent off. Feel we still need another goal to kill off the game.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Skrtel on for Lovren, he was struggling, wonder if the jeers we're getting to him.
Double change is a big sign of unhappiness from Koeman.
Win this and our other game in hand and Liverpool are on level points with West Ham. Top four not that distinct of a possibility?

Skrtel gives the penalty away, and it's saved.
Stupid from Skrtel to have hold of his shirt even if it did look six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Skrtel has had this habit of holding on for the last few years. To be honest he has been fortunate to not concede many more penalties. I agree this one was a but on the soft side but still a fair decision.

Got to take off Origi or Sturridge for me and bring on somebody to shore the midfield up a bit, just not sure how fit Henderson is.

We couldn't score, even if Mannone walked off & sat in the crowd. Embarrassing & pathetic, I hope we go down

Liverpool throw away a two goal lead. Still in the changing room second half.

Celebrating an equaliser like he's won the World Cup & wasting about two precious minutes, then also gets booked. Clown

Klopp usually gets things right but when he took off Sturridge, Benteke was not the person to bring on. We'd lost control of the midfield completely and Benteke comes back even less.

Big game though john, cant really blame him for celabrating like he did.
On the booking they need to scrap that. Nothing wrong with a player taking his shirt off.

The only winners were Norwich today. We have to win at Carrow road, otherwise it's six points behind. We were awful today, beyond awful

Should have been over at half time, extremely poor second half and looked very lost with Skrtel at the back.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
One of the more predictable comebacks, hard to blame the management when Liverpool seem to have blown two goal advantages a lot in recent years notably in the last 10 minutes. Mane will be leaving Southampton in the Summer.
