Commiserations Wales - Page 3 Empty Commiserations Wales

Post by LondonTiger Sun Mar 06, 2016 9:25 pm

First topic message reminder :

If they do not quite do it, of course please accept my heartfelt condolences - and I hope my countrymen accept an unlikely victory with good grace.

Added Bit:

That was really squeaky bum time. Massive heart from the Welsh to fight back like that.

I think you'll find most English fans are more than aware of how good a team Wales are, hence the uncertainty of the result. Some may feel confident of an English win and vice versa, don't mistake hope for derision. Smile

Some posters on here need to take a step back, relax and just genuinely chill out.

I very much appreciated LondonTiger but the manner in which he announced his departure from this site let himself and the site down by launching personal insults.

Gwlad actually has a good rugby brain and can make some very interesting contributions. This is the Gwlad that you see, hence your perception of him. He can also be the most tedious, childish poster imaginable, and this is what the English see, as he reserves these type of posts almost entirely for the English. There are many (in fact most) Welsh posters who get on absolutely fine with the English and have very good discussions which regularly get derailed thanks to the gruesome twosome - it's not coincidence that Gwlad and Mikey in particular find English posters constantly fed up with them, because it's the same old Poopie almost every day.
If you had to put up with daily posts telling you how arrogant the Irish are (when actually the Irish hadn't shown any arrogance at all) or how the Irish gloated over a win when they were actually very humble winners, you'd get a little peed off with it as well, especially when calls for proof are simply ignored in favour of more unsupported nonsense. If I'm honest it doesn't bother me enough to leave as I haven't been on here as long as some so haven't had to put up with it for as long as others, but I can understand why others are getting fed up with it. You can guarantee that any English thread will have both of these posters firing little quips at every opportunity, it gets tiresome and ruins decent discussion.

Billy, this is another example of Hooner's lies. I merely said that I didn't like Jones' comments, and that Gatland had been vilified in the past - so I also said I was confused as to why one gets exemptions. I also commented on certain English posters gloating upon getting wins over the mighty Scotland and Italy, which came across as arrogant and just daft. Hoonercat was one of the ones to keep shouting this down and attack me, hence this current post spreading lies. I'm getting a little tired of him tbh, but as long as guys like O'Driscoll and Pocock share my sentiment I will continue to post my fair and honest opinion. I hope this clears things up billy thumbsup.

2 things Mikey. For some reason you seem to think that everything I say has something to do with the Eddie Jones thread, though I haven't mentioned it. I'm actually talking about your posts in general, something most other posters will recognise. You make a habit of throwing accusations at English posters, then whine like a bitch when they come back and put you straight.
As for the English gloating over the Scottish win, I'm glad you brought that up. You were asked many times to link to posts showing this gloating and failed to do so, because, as said at the time, it's all made up nonsense on your part. Your idea of 'shouting down and attacking me' appears to be any instance where someone asks for proof of your claims and you cannot provide it, you use it as a means to draw attention away from your daft accusations then when people still press you for proof you accuse them of not being able to move on.

Didn't Hartley say before the Irish game that now England get to play in a proper test match.  That seems pretty arrogant to me

I'm fairly sure Hartley is a player, rather than a poster on this forum, which is what we are discussing.

You might want to look back at page 1 to see which one of us brought the other into the discussion Rolling Eyes And the reason I don't mention English WUMs in Welsh threads is because I don't read them and stick to the actual match threads, when I'm not in church of course.

True Raven if you don't like it then ignore it? Just let the Wumming carry on as it is?

You say there are English WUMS who ambush Welsh threads. Surely they are a problem too then?

There has to be some sort of progression, some sort of policing or anarchy on these boards will reign.

If it means banning me as well as others to restore order then so be it.

I would rather there be a harmonious posting board for others than the current status quo.

Don't want to see more posters like Londontiger driven away.

Agree with OP...it's just not worth wading through all the BS on England threads here any more. The Telegraph comments are a better read.

At least the club section is relatively untouched by all the nonsense.

just because there are WUMS on both sides it does not justify wumming. Just because there are WUMS on both sides it does not mean everyone from the other side is a wum.

Plenty of welsh posters who contribute to lots of threads that we are not complaining about. 2 or 3 that we are (Can't believe no one has mentioned Rainbow Warrior yet)

The original post specifically mentions an English WUM, it was Mikey who came in to the thread throwing names around of people who hadn't even commented on the thread until then.

No LT did not, except everyone else on here is. Look, I have had my spats with mikey, and when he says that he does not insult anyone we all know it's a lie, but on this particular thread, there are a lot of English members blaming him and Gwlad for everything yet they are totally dismissing the other members who were mentioned.

If people on here are going to point out Gwlad and mikey's behaviour to everybody, then they need to acknowledge the English members that they are arguing with all the time, there are a few who have been trying their luck on this thread, and many others, so lets not just single out the Welshmen OK. OK

Lordowlais I am singling out the poster who I think is the most disruptive of the lot - Gwlad. Not Mikey, not anyone else.

If you've got a problem with that fair enough but that's how I feel. Take Gwlad out and I think you'll find there will be less antagonism on both sides. Or least encourage him to reduce his wummery to a tolerable level.

Of course there are English posters who get into boobie for tat battles with Gwlad and I have been guilty myself but he's been the one stirring things up in my opinion.

I have been guilty of pops at Wales myself but when it comes to the crunch I don't hate Wales. I gave you credit for your win in the RWC. I like aspects of your team.

I get the impression Gwlad hates England and that hatred is not healthy. When you have one poster who deliberately attacks a nation as much as Gwlad it's not good.

Can we have some better emoticons? The whole point of them is to illustrate meaning that can get lost in writing, and the ones on 606 are a bit errr poop. Then the WUM'ers can WUM to their hearts' content, stick a smiley at the end and no one will ever know. raspberry

beshocked, there are members on this forum, who are English, at least that is how they portray themselves, who deliberately come on here and have subtle digs at Wales, especially after they have just won a game. I could name them, there are about five or six of them, they know what they are doing, and they are very clever with how they do it, I challenged one on it not so long ago and he resorted to petty insults.

Yes, yes they do. One went out of his way to try and make a point, that drug abuse in grass roots level of Welsh rugby was because of Warren Gatland's tactics with the Welsh squad.

I must of missed those posts or I'm simply not clever enough to see them.

You can't argue with the Uk anti-doping findings/facts surrounding Welsh (grassroots thankfully) rugby players Lord.

Who said the Welsh have no attack eh?!!

I should take over from Howley, it seems my posts have these Englishers running for their kleenex Very Happy

Can't even title a thread 'well done Wales' without it leading to controversy.
You might think the compliment would be graciously received.
There is even a 'hang it all out'  thread, for England v Wales biliousness.
But other national  fixtures do not seem to need an equivalent thread.
Something a bit odd about this fixture.

Posters come and posters go. This forum has always had a significant number of juveniles for whom rugby is a backdrop for a tiresome volume of one-upmanship diarrhoea. That's the Internet for you. Offensive bigots who used to get a slap down the pub when they mouthed off can now sit and type drivel all day.

Maybe LT is being a bit overly sensitive but there are definitely fewer quality rugby discussions here now than in the past. Posts that start well usually get targeted by the intellectually challenged.

I still like to visit the forum and observe - it does serve a useful role by giving a platform for those who are too dysfunctional for normal society. It also fuels my superiority complex nicely. Whistle

To be fair you would probably do a better job than Howley as long as you put as much passion into the attack job as you do your attacks on England.

Stick to the rugby instead of wumming and you'll be fine.

I didn't want to comment here, but thought a quick word wouldn't hurt.

I find it difficult to comment on most threads these days, I've been called previous posters, fake English, fake Welsh, fake in general, the threads have been so guarded that I don't think certain posters try to wum on purpose, but the shear fear of wumming is so large that noone takes opinions seriously, a differing opinion is all too easily mocked, and the ones being mocked retaliate.

I'm guilty of retaliating, and probably as guilty as anyone for exagerating my opinion, or belittling someone elses, but the community has become so focused on villifying each other that when a poster who likes to discuss all threads tries to do so they are basically told to stay out of that thread and stick with their own.

Apparently English poeple have no right to comment on Welsh threads? And Welsh people no right to comment on English threads.

When it comes to Mikey i've probably got frustrated with a few comments, and told those i'm debating with to ignore him, which was probably unfair of me, i've also been on the other side and had posters mock me for a differing view and got frustrated myself.

Lets turn it around, lets be a bit more open, niaive, and up front, if someone tries to wum you let them, what do you lose?

From here on in I am willing to try harder to make this place a nicer place for all to visit, I don't want to see people leaving, and more importantly feeling they need a parting shot before doing so!

Apparently, the BBC never ran it - in case it might offend England fans which is kinda funny.

And I don't agree with it either. I'd nominate Wales or France before I'd ever say England.

Yes I'd say most posters aren't overly interested but there are a few who clearly are a bit too interested. Wink
