Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Bath lose heavily to Sarries to start the weekend, with three players looking at season ending bans. Anthony Watson may get a short enough ban for his Red Card to be back for round 22, b ut will be sweating on the decision and whether it affects England's tour.
Kelly Brown and David Wilson seem sure to be cited for contact in or around the eyes 9at the same maul0 and will get a ban similar to Ashton.
Remaining games:
Sat 2nd Apr 16
15:00 Exeter Chiefs v Worcester Warriors Sandy Park
15:00 Harlequins v Newcastle Falcons Twickenham Stoop
15:00 London Irish v Sale Sharks Madejski Stadium
15:15 Leicester Tigers v Gloucester Rugby Welford Road BT Sport Preview
Sun 3rd Apr 16
15:00 Wasps v Northampton Saints Ricoh Arena BT Sport

Only noticed the result, but people on Twitter were gushing over Alex Goode, was he as good as made out?

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
The zoomed in slow mo seemed to show that Brown didn't quite get the eyes, was more cheek/mouth area. Wilson on the other hand is looking at a lengthy lay off.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Do not have to get the eyes though, just in and around the eyes will do. Both should, imo, be cited and based on recent rulings be banned for 8 weeks plus.
Interesting that McCall agreed with Ford Sr that technically Watson's offence was a sending off but that Ashton had interfered with the Bath/LI man and that Watson was very unlucky.

I guess with Brown you can argue recklessness, as his head is buried in the maul so he can't see what he is grabbing but continues to claw away. That said, I'm not sure how he can be found guilty of contact with the eye area if he doesn't make any contact there.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Just being close is enough atm. It is just the latest witch hunt, but no consolation for those caught for what are really rather innocuous offences.
Meanwhile someone banned for a mid range offence, is then cleared to play just weeks into their sentence by FFR on a technicality.

Looking like great weather for running rugby in Leicester - and a Glaws team that look ripe for the picking.
Thus the foreboding in my gut grows.

You should put a cricket score on us. We've been playing very poorly recently with an underpowered pack. Added to that we're resting a number of players ahead of the challenge qf next week. I'd be overjoyed by a LBP but expect to lose by 15+. Enjoy the game

Falcons fans on the other forum think we can win this one, I love blind optimism.
Hoping Sale can turn it on for us my only hope.

If we go down....I think Deano needs to go and we need a new coach with fresh ideas.
EDIT - Even if we stay up Id consider it! I just don't see any improvement!

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
I don't think we have Nathan. The same mistakes that we were making when he took over.
We changed tactics a little last season when LW were already down and looked good, then suddenly hes reverted to type again this season.
Its poor stuff to watch.

But you've had some good results this season which proves when you get it right it's working.
Put it this way, your better than our defence is at the moment

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
We've had a couple of decent results, but we did last season. This season is worse has gone backwards...despite a couple of big name scalps.
Even those were squeak bum at times and could have been quicly turned to L's.

Sinoti is some player.
We're getting very little from the ref. Seems to have decided out scrum will get pinged every time

Poor first half bar the odd Sinoti Magic.
Defence porous, handling poor. Just a normal week being a Falcons fan. Quins getting the rub but no major complaints.
