The Dew Drop Inn
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Allow and permit? Not a difference there at all is there?
Although permit can be used in a different context it still ultimately means the same thing as allow, well I think so anyway...

Luckless,
Looking for the difference in your own opinion not how a thesaurus would define them.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
Hi folks – just a quickie from me at the back end of my lunch break. Having seen the draw , and based on LAST season’s form I would hazard a guess at the following: -
Pool 1 Northampton.
Pool 2 Tight, but Racing Metro to prevail; possibly on head to head results with The Blues.
Pool 3 Leinster with not too much trouble.
Pool 4 Leicester + Clermont as runners up.
Pool 5 Again a tight one. Biarritz on head to head results v Sarries.
Pool 6 Toulouse, but they are not what they used to be. + Quins as runners up.
As I said, that's based on last season. Let's see who turns up next season.
Who do people think will be the three teams to drop to the Amlin?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
I wouldn't draw a distinction between them. You could swap one for the other in a sentence and the meaning would be the same. Stag's right though that 'permit' sounds more authoritative.

No, my mistake, it's a crab. A permit crab.

Good Luck stand! I'm sure it will work if you get your marketing right. A bit of viral marketing using FB etc should get the numbers rolling in as I'm sure there is the demand out there for a few rugby centric pubs. I wish someone would do something up like this up this way too.

Agree in full. My initial impression is Munster, London Irish, Leinster, Leicester Tigers, Saracens, Toulouse, Northampton, Harlequins. Which would be a whopping 5 Premiership teams and only one single French team

We were talking about superhero films last week. Just saw the trailer for Green Lantern. Could be the best this year.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
Thomond,
I'm not sure to be honest. It looks like it might be good fun but not a particularly good film.

Willy,
I'd say people have been doing that since The Last King of Scotland.

I'd be inclined to agree with Munstys take on it. Dark Knight Rises and Xmen First Class are what I want to see.

Fassbender is the one I'm watching out for. I really liked the way he played his role in Inglorious Basterds.

I work for a subsidiary company but essentially it is my job to assist customers with sony products. I spent the day talking to customers who have problems with their sony products.
