The Masters Competition!
It is that time of year again when the top golfers in the world make their way to Georgia for The Masters at Augusta. This competition returns for its seventh year. jimbohammers won The Masters Competition last year and is looking for back to back wins in this tournament.
The rules remain the same so if you haven't played before all you have to do is select six golfers, before the first tee off on Thursday, then sit back and see how they get on. I will hopefully get a leaderboard up for each round sometime the following morning.
The winner will be the person with the lowest combined score from their three best finishers. That allows upto three of your selections to not make the cut. The competition scores will be the actual scores from the golfers. So if you have Jordan Spieth and he scores 280 for his four rounds, you get 280 towards you score.
The full rules are listed at the bottom of this post.
Here is a list of the winners so far and you can see the previous Masters' final leaderboards in the spoilers below:-
2015 Masters
To clarify here are the rules:-
1) Select six golfers before 13.20pm on Thursday.
2) Your score will be the cumulative scores from the three best performing golfers of your six selections.
3) As in any golf competition the person with the lowest score wins. Par for this competition would be 864.
4) You must have at least three of your selections make the cut in order to win.
5) In the event of a tie for first place, your fourth best placed selection will be the decider. If there is still a tie after that the fifth then sixth selections will be considered respectively.
Hope that explains it all and good luck.

2015 Masters
- Spoiler:
- The result of this competition never really looked in doubt during the final day at the Masters with jimbohammers having the top three of Spieth, Mickelson and Rose among his selections. jimbohammers had led all but the second day and took a five shot lead into the final round. McIlroy and Matsuyama flirted with the top three but that was more of an outside chance.
So congratulations to jimbohammers on winning The Masters Competition clap clap
Eight people tied for second place just two shots off the lead including me with my best finish in these competitions and John Cregan who came close to landing back-to-back major competitions.

- Masters rookies, Jordan Spieth and Jonas Blixt, failed to win in Augusta but a rookie did win this competition in the form of kouchi. kouchi had Bubba Watson, Miguel Jimenez and Matt Kuchar among his selections to take the title by three shots ahead of themightyone who has the final pair of Watson and Spieth but struggled to find a third selections to back them up. WillyGilly and pedro, who both had Watson, Kuchar and Rory McIlroy, finished a further shot back in third.
So congratulations to kouchi on winning The Masters Competition clap clap

- Spoiler:
- The final day of this competition hinged on those who has Adam Scott and those with Brandt Snedeker. Scott's final round of 69 saw a handful climb up the leaderboard while Snedeker's disastrous round of 75 end the hopes of many of day three's top ten.
EmmDee57 who had both Scott and Snedeker along with Woods came out on top after the four days in Augusta by one shot from SmithersJones, Skydriver, Caf and mystiroakey all in joint second. Dancingweeman suffered late when Jason Day bogeyed the last two holes dropping him from the top spot to sixth.
So congratulations to EmmDee57 on winning The Masters Competition clap clap and on becoming the first person to win two of these competitions following his win in The Open Competition last year.

- Just like in real life this Masters Competition also came down to a play off. kwinigolfer lead by one shot going into day 4 with Oosthuizen, Mickelson and Westwood from Alsie in second who had Watson, Mickelson and Westwood. Watson had a fourth round of 68, one shot ahead of Oosthuizen, to put Alsie and kwinigolfer level on 26 under for the tournament.
Therefore the competition was determined by their fourth highest selections. Alsie's fourth highest finisher was Angel Cabrera with 291 while kwinigolfer's fourth highest finisher was Tiger Woods with 293 so congratulations goes to Alsie for winning the first 'major' competition of the year.

I'm pretty sure too now Kwini. It's just that he is shown on the invite list on the Masters web site. When I went to put my 2p E/W on him at the bookies they told me he wasn't playing due to his 2 year military service.kwinigolfer wrote:PS: Inw: I'm sure Bae is a non-runner . . . . . .
