Gloucester vs Dragons RCC Quarter Final
First topic message reminder :
Gloucester: T Marshall, R Cook, H Trinder, M Atkinson, S McColl, J Hook, G Laidlaw (captain), P McAllister, R Hibbard, J Afoa, T Savage, M Galarza, S Kalamafoni, M Kvesic, B Morgan. Replacements: D Dawidiuk, Y Thomas, P Doran-Jones, E Stooke, G Evans, C Braley, O Thorley, J Rowan.
Dragons: C Meyer, A Hughes, T Morgan, A Warren, H Amos, D Jones, S Pretorius, P Price, E Dee, B Harris, R Landman, N Crosswell, L Evans (captain), N Cudd, T Faletau. Replacements: R Buckley, B Stankovich, S Knight, M Screech, E Jackson, C Davies, A O’Brien, GR Jones.
I am very much looking forward to a good day out in Gloucester (then onto Cheltenham afterwards), but I am not looking forward to the drubbling that awaits us. I think there will by one try in it at half time, but then Glaws will pull away in the last 20.
Regardless, I shall be there in my dragons jersey screaming #suftmog at the top of my lungs and enjoying some banter with the shed faithful!

Hibbard is back boozing like he did when he was doing poorly at Ospreys. He then sorted himself and became a lion. He is overweight and a pen machine currently.

A well deserved victory for Dragons, who showed real desire to win throughout. The fans were in fine voice too and it's a refreshing change to actually have away fans in number. In many ways the fans are like Glaws', loud with a dry wit and very one eyed! It's a shame we don't play each other more often.
Gavin, glad you enjoyed your day. Putting 2 + 2 together I've realised who you are, so the next time we meet just discuss recruitment and not rugby! Ed
I shall say very little on Glaws. In the last 5 weeks we have produced 3 of the worst performances I've seen in the last 20 years. Something is inherently wrong at Castle Grim, some tough decisions are needed on the playing and coaching front otherwise we'll be genuine relegation fodder next season.

I haven't seen the game I was out shopping, I'll download it later but congratulations to Dragons fans.

Ha! Thanks Ed.
I have just watched the game back, and as Ieuan Evans was saying in commentary, I am amazed Gloucester didn't start trying to pick and go around the fringes to tie in our defenders. A surprising lack of leadership given the experience in that side.

Re: Gloucester vs Dragons RCC Quarter Final
Completely agree Gavin, we were inept and lacked any form of game management; which given the experience on the field was unacceptable. Strong rumours flying around that Laurie Fisher and Nick Walshe are going to leave the coaching setup.
Good luck against Montpellier, you should change your stag to go there instead!

You need to hold a meeting with the Wales fans screaming for Hook to be thrust back into our team. I thank you for having common sense.

Is there honestly a more frustrating player in world rugby than Hook?

Re: Gloucester vs Dragons RCC Quarter Final
To be fair, hook wasn't close to being the worst player in that Gloucester team and his bit of skill got the try that pulled Gloucester back into the game. You might wanna look at mccoll on the left wing who in the last ten mins was doing everything he could to let the dragons back in

Looked more like a bit of luck, rather than skill.

According to a few disgruntled pig lovers on twitter Dragons fans were 'classless' for singing 'you'll never play for Wales' at Hooky
I think we just out Glasstered Glaster

Yes I did see that. We have also been accused of being like soccer fans.
We do have a variety of chants, and some of them are more football esq than others. But there is certainly no vitriole in what is chanted. Most of it is tongue in cheek. We even chant 'he knocked it on' at our own players when they do, indeed, knock it on.
Meant in jest more than anything I feel.

Guilty as charged. But there was no foul language or anything remotely agressive, it was all in good humour. There were young Dragons fans among us in the shed.

There was plenty of foul language from me when my internet died in the last 5 minutes of the game

I think South Africa B are going to review this match and do a lot of homework. I can see them shutting us down completely and overpowering us.

So can I, but then that's what Gloucester were predicted to do...
I doubt we'll win over there, but if we give it a lash, who knows? We've fared quite well in France over the last few seasons.

Re: Gloucester vs Dragons RCC Quarter Final
Glaws aren't that smart tbh. Their recent form coupled with what wasn't that great a back line for them probably puts them on a level with us, so I'm not sure what idiot was predicting that.
We'll give it a lash I'm sure, but we need parity up front for that and right now I can't see that happening. It could be another Sale.

Blues should have won in Montpellier but for some pathetic refereeing decisions, maybe you should ask Danny Wilson some tips

We're more suited to adopt a Wilson style of play, but Lyn thinks otherwise.

Lyn will not be present at tonight's Q&A. Kinglsey Jones will replace him.

Good old Lyp. Still, it'll maybe make some people more willing to slag him off if he isn't there

I did think that it will now be a brave fan to ask about nepotism given Dorian is quite clearly the favoured 10.

It was more the overpowering bit I was referring to.

TBF is Gloucester had been a bit smarter they could have overpowered us. They didn't even try to, they just went side to side and it was easy for us to pick them off.

You always get some clueless idiots who take umbrage against a team with the audacity to beat us at home! As I mentioned earlier, your fans are very similar to Glaws with a very dry wit, the singing at Hook is absolutely no different to the calls made every week at Kingsholm to visiting players.
