As much as I'd rather have sat on a table with Duty at a dinner party than had Spurs win the league, I'm sick of the media and Leicester.

Also, Miky, you were completely right last night. Embarrassing to see people promoting eye-gouging and thinking players should not be punished for actions on Costa.

If it was West Ham you'd be chirping on like nobody's business. Let them have their moment, you're only jealous that it's never happened to your club.

I have a foot in both camps.

Its likely a once in a lifetime moment, and people are right to celebrate that and make a big deal of it.

That said, there are some less savoury elements that are completely whitewashed (I cannot stand Vardy for one). Also I'm slightly biased, as 15 people beeping their horns in unison slightly annoying at quarter to 12 after 2 hours continuously.

Moaning about the media and Leicester is a bit, what did you expect? Next to no coverage, a little mention on Sky Sports News?

Or were you hoping for distasteful headlines 'Racist Vardy Wins Premier League'?

I'd rather read about Leicester and Vardy's story than about how West Ham have r*ped the taxpayers for their new stadium.

No, I f*cking well do know and it won't be. It'll be glimmers of hope followed by periods of mediocrity and the occasional shower of sh!t like the weekend....so basically this season all over again.

Or maybe with the departure of Skrtyl and the arrival of Matip we'll forge a defensive partnership to rival Hansen and Lawro coupled with a midfield general in the mould of Souness (without the excessively violent streak) and 20+ goals a season striker (hopefully Sturridge) we might put up a valiant battle for top four but ultimately fall short and wish we had a spare £300 million.

Who knows... I do but I live in hope more than expectation

I wonder what the odds are for Leicester being relegated next season and Ranieri being the first premiership manager sacked in the new season.  I doubt whether I could get odds of 5000 to 1 on it?  Football is a fickle sport.

I wonder what the odds are for Mourinho being the first premiership manager sacked in the new season? That would be a linked bet for LV Gaal being sacked, Mourinho being appointed, then he being sacked (dressing room unrest + relegation standard performance or something else).

Terrific for Leicester but it has to be said that the standard in the Premier League this season has been very poor.
I expect that "normal" service will resume next season. Few will believe that Chelsea will do so badly again and surely Arsenal and Man City will have better seasons. If Leicester do well again, that really WILL be a story. (comparisons with Boris Becker who not only won Wimbledon at 17 but - amazingly - won it again at 18 the following year).

As far as British Football goes, Forest winning and retaining the European Cup was pretty big. English clubs did dominate during the late 70's and early 80's, as you will know but the fact a relatively small club retained it was and still is massive, though that was a knock-out competition.

I don't think you can compare teams (Greece, Forest) and individuals (Becker, Ben Curtis) winning tournaments to Leicester winning a 38 game league.

I'm biased, but Cloughs side winning back to back European cups is further ahead, and it isn't that close. Winning it once is one thing, repeating is another thing entirely.

Fully justified don't care if Costa's a c*nt you can't try and blind someone just as bad if not worse then biting.

I genuinely would not give Dembele a ban, as far as i'm concerned it does make a difference it was Costa, anyone barring Suarez then by all means ban him. Torres got away with something very similar on Vertonghen a couple of seasons ago.

A lengthly ban is what he and other players should get, aswell as a heafty fine.

A fine alone is not enough, these players need to be made an example of.

John wrote:You get 10-12 week ban for eye gouging in Rugby, so sounds about right

For clarification, 12 weeks is the standard ban in rugby union for a low grade offence (which can be reduced by up to 50 % based on admittance of guilty and previous good record), which would normally be reckless contact with the face and eye area while doing something that is part of the game (i.e. tackling or binding to a ruck). Medium level offences, which iirc are those judged to be intentional contact with the eye and surrounding but without significant force, have a maximum sanction of 18 weeks - I'd rate Dembele's actions at this level.

It is possible to be banned for up to 3 years for a deliberate gouge with the clear intent to cause harm.

Given the scale of suspensions typically dished out in football, I think 10 weeks wouldn't be seen as being unduly lenient, but wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit longer.

Glad he's getting the recognition his talent & performances deserve, heard he's up for the player of the month. Been at the forefront of our resurgence & hopefully we can stay up & keep him. £8m is peanuts, especially for English talent & arguably the most in form winger we have before the Euro's.
