Briggs confirmed on Haye Day card against...

... Alexander Dimitrenko. Could be interesting as Dimitrenko is a half decent seasoned operator. I think Briggs will do his usual "rush the opponent" technique and if he's still standing after round 2 he gets comprehensively outboxed. 

It comes to something when the under card heavyweight fighter has a better opponent than the main event. Dimitrenko would certainly give Haye a bigger test than the nonentity he is up against...

He's not fought anyone with a pulse since 2012 though.

Maybe Haye is hoping he wins to free him up to fight Joshua...

This is the problem with boxing now.

The casual fan is sold the opponents record. The guy Haye is fighting is "Undefeated", "World Ranked" "KO Ratio of over 70%"........Haye is seen by the casual as an explosive Heavyweight and I kid you not have heard people compare to Tyson.

Joshua is fighting Breazele - an "Olympian" "Undefeated" "6FT 7!!"

Olympians Collide for the latter fight and Thunder and Lightening for the Haye one.

Hardcore fans, or just people that genuinely read about the sport and know some stuff, clearly realise that these 2 fights are nothing short of a Joke.

Hence why Brook tends to get away with fighting who he does outside of this forum.

Agree wholeheartedly re Briggs Truss. His last 8 opponents had a W-L-D record between them of 179-71-3 which is hardly awe-inspiring. Unless Dimitrenko gets felled by a sucker punch he should walk this fight. Too good for Briggs before Vitali, let alone now...

Maybe giving Briggs a licence and a fight was the only way to finally shut him up. Have him lose on a card that pulls reasonable viewing figures and then hopefully enough people will see him for what he is and put an end to any talk of him fighting Haye.

Is it weird that the guy Briggs is fighting is a more credible opponent than the guy Haye is up against?

As most have mentioned, cant see Briggs winning this fight, just a nice bit of exposure for him and a payday. That's all he is chasing.

Just saw the above on Twitter. No sure of the truth of it or otherwise.

If true is better then the main event.

Haye and Briggs should really swap opponents.

I doubt Briggs can win this one, and I doubt Haye has any intention of fighting him.
