Hello fellow parents of young children

Gomez looking the business today, but perhaps a little gun shy? His clean hitting is exceptional.

Really sorry that he lost, but it wasn't unexpected. If he did make $6 million for this fight, remember that he still has to pay his trainers and taxes. I don't know how much he'll have left or what he was already worth but I wouldn't mind seeing him retire.

I didn't see the fight but it seems that he didn't take a prolonged beating so he might want to continue fighting. A couple of soft touches and the Brook fight with a big final payday will be available.

That's a fair point in that he didn't take a prolonged beating.  It tends to be the one's with a more durable chin that get brain damaged - because of the prolonged beating it takes to stop them / knock them out.

On a separate note doctors are beginning to warn against severe dehydration to make the weight limits in MMA - some of the fighters are getting kidney damage from it.  I assume Alvarez must severely dehydrate himself for the weigh in - then to balloon up in size just 24 hours later.

There is going to be a "BBC 5 Live Investigates" programme on it today at 11am (apparently).

IMHO the writing was on the wall in the 5th when Alvarez started to throw WITH Khan trying to time him rather than either leading or trying to counter after Khan's combinations al a Danny Garcia. Not sure if this is why but during the 6th Khan looked either tentative or he simply lost concentration as he has in the past, either way brutal finish hope Amir is well, full credit for taking the match.

Crolla, classic night's action, brain over brawn, almost rope a dope, reminded me a bit of Michael Watson stopping an exhausted Nigel Benn back in the day.

canelo same tactics as garcia, just loaded up and looked for the big shot. which he eventually found

khan lacks the concentration to survive against anyone with decent power. anybody knows the game plan to beat him

great win by crolla, said watching it in the pub just survive the first 4 and this guy will blow his load. it happened, but crolla had to gut it out

... It's why I thought Crolla was a good bet in this. Barrosa could obviously fight and punch but he'd never been past 8 and had blown away a lot of turkeys by swinging away.

Didn't expect his gassing to be so sudden, he just hit empty and fell apart.

Always dangerous judging a fighter on one showcase performance (Ie Mitchell) When porter destroyed malignaggi, he was suddenly superman prior to the brook fight.

Canelo set that KO up really intelligently. He's a good fighter. Not great by any means but clever and solid.

Scoring was crazy again. Picked this up from Twitter:

"Canelo has now gotten a scorecard of 118-109 vs Trout, 114-114 vs Floyd, 117-111 vs Lara, 119-109 vs Cotto and now 49-46 vs Khan."
