Vardy decision today.
West Ham want Feghouli and Tore.
Townsend to leave Newcastle, Stoke or Southampton likely

Inevitable departure, but I heard it was Palace that have met the release clause. Pardew also sniffing around Tim Krul.

Bailly fits into Mourinho's modus operandi perfectly of signing a young, quick powerful centre back in the mould of Varane and Zouma.

Kante following Vardy out the exit door it seems, PSG for 20m is the mooted deal. Suspect Mahrez will see which way the winds blowing.
If I'm Leicester, I'm not sure I'm too eager to start a bidding war. Better to sell high before some of these players inevitably return back to regular form. Vardy in particular is 29, wouldn't be that fussed, take the 20m and run.

Not entirely fussed either way. Better then Giroud but doesn't fit the way we play.
PS Feghouli is a Mr Winklechops.

That was the club I couldnt remember! Pards apparently wants Tomkins too, in if Everton go for Scott Dann.

West Ham priced out of move for Vardy:
"It was reported that one of our targets was Jamie Vardy, and while it is true that we would loved to have had him, the numbers being talked about in a potential move to Arsenal show that the market is going potty," Sullivan told the club's website.
"It is safe to say that signing him would have smashed our current wage structure and we are determined to buy players with good value in this mad market."

Sullivan has also confirmed on Twitter that we have no interest in Walcott or the Ox.
Rumour has it that Vardy upped his original wage demands to West Ham astronomically when Arsenal's interest became apparent. Can't blame him, hes worked up the leagues and got here late, needs to make the money whilst he can.

Would guess West Ham were always being used to price either Leicester or a bigger club up the ladder.

Presume he's wanting around the 150k mark, currently he's on 80k a week at Leicester which is joint highest with Schlupp.

I'd imagine right now that if he were given £150k or so from most clubs he'd have a look.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
But he did that with Leicester. £80,000 a week x 3 years = 12.5 million pounds. How much is enough? Stay with Leicester and his loyalty will be amply rewarded even when he decides to hang up his boots. Leave and he may disappear into obscurity, a bench warmer for a bigger side. When he retires he won't be a legend of the bigger team. If the rest of the Leicester team fall apart because other players want out when they see Vardy leaving, then he might lose that hero worship status he currently has at Leicester. Some might even resent him. People are fickle. But good luck to him.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Sullivan has also confirmed on Twitter that we have no interest in Walcott or the Ox.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Has he been on £80k a week for three years? And £150K and ample bonuses id imagine, that puts you on stellar life. Im not great on the tax rate of the richest etc but if its 40% I think that takes about 5 mill from his near 13m. Hes got £7m to last a lifetime, and it easily could, but you go for the type of comfort that could give you a luxurious lifestyle and sets up your family for years.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Where on earth do you guys get your figures from? It's been reliably reported that Vardy is on £60k.
Take away pension contributions, tax and national insurance, and the typical high-earning footballer takes home just 40% of his 'pay' - so 'just' £1.3m on a £60k per week deal (per year).
If anything, he needs to sign for Arsenal. £120k a week for 4 years is £10m. I know I'd rather have £10m than £5.2m.

Either way money wise he'll be very, very well off.
He's made it, he's rich, doesn't need to grab money if he doesn't want to. Should make a footballing decision.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
No I was assuming his Feb 2016 deal of £60,000 / week for three years was going to be at least improved to £80,000 / week. I am not sure how much Vardy has already - but that would also include various bonuses.
What I was also considering was that Vardy could dine out on reputation after his hangs up his boots if he showed loyalty to Leicester - jobs could appear for him associated with businesses in Leicester, the club itself and the current billionaire owners. He is also likely to make a fortune from his biography, various rights to his story, personal sponsorship, personal brand etc. As a "hero" to a city and football club - there will be money to made on that.

I don't get this Vardy should show loyalty/owes it to Leicester rubbish
He's owes them nothing - clubs are more than happy to cut players whenever they see fit, and rarely if ever show real loyalty to players.
Vardy should go make as much money as he can while he can. Let's face it he's hardly an academic, so probably hasn't got a great career post football calling for him...
Any Leicester fans who turn on him if he does move should be outed and shamed as idiots

If he is a success at Arsenal - then yes. It would be another chapter in his story.
Ps: I think Leicester have to try to do everything to retain him - he was such an important component to Leicester's success. Not sure they could find an equivalent replacement. Leicester have like Arsenal got the Champions League to look forward to.

I literally don't care if he stays at Leicester or not. Unless we're going to change the way we play which is highly doubtful it's a waste of £20m.
Won't blame him for taking whoever offers more though all players do. The problem is people saying their going to stay and turn around and go.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Should leave for Arsenal, makes no sense financially or for long term footballing reasons, to stay with Leicester, whereby the fairytale is going to end relatively sharpish. Vardy might not suit the system, but you have no idea how successful or unsuccessful he will be at that club. He will consistently play champions league football, not just for one year, he will challenge for titles, cups & guarantee an England slot for years, by moving to a bigger club. If he stays at Leicester, just to ridiculous stay loyal to this fairytale story, it would be foolish.

Think he's more likely to keep his international place at Leicester because he will be playing regularly.
I don't really care either just discussing some of the points people raised.
He's a diving chav who is also a racist, gets overlooked for the Cinderella story.

Higuain to Liverpool rumours growing now. Klopp was seen at the Argentina game with Higuain's brother/agent. Higuain was subbed off in the 74th minute, then Klopp left the game in the 76th minute.
This is the perfect storm for Chelsea to steal him from under Liverpool's noses.
You've surely got to think if Higuain is on the market there will be more clubs interested, PSG need a new striker, he worked under Mourinho before, Chelsea are in the market for a striker and Arsenal are about to pay £20 million for Jamie Vardy.
I'd love to sign him, but just think it's likely to end in another club with Champions League football beating us to the punch.

I would be quite happy for the club to just buy Balotelli out of his contract. I don't even want him turning up at Liverpool related buildings and disturbing the piece.
My hope is a team from China comes in and pays stupid money for him and Balotelli is happy to go.

Diving: Lets be honest, he's not the worst diver in the history of the game.
Chav: I'll give you that one
Racist: Although calling someone a Jap is frowned upon, it's not exactly the worst thing i've ever heard. To label him as a racist because of that single incident is a bit harsh. Going by your terms, i would put good money that everyone in this thread is a racist.
