He's an amazing player to bring in, his pace will absolutely destroy some English centrebacks, just can't see how he fits in the usual Pep set up or that it's a big setback for Iheanacho's place.

£58.5m is the fee. Good deal for Dortmund.

------Aubameyang--------Aguero--------
Sterling-Gundogan-Fernandinho-De Bruyne
Easily play a 4-4-2, then revert to the 4-2-3-1, drop Aubameyang & bring in Silva. Rumours that Stones or Laporte will be added too. Be amazed if they don't win the title

Imagine he can be used in a similar way to David Villa was.
Then you can have Aguero through the middle, Sterling or De Bruyne on the right. Silva deeper next to Gundongan and Fernandinho or another new central midfielder.

Could go completely off the wall and have Silva or De Bruyne as false 9s and play them both coming in from wider.

Being following him for a while, looks naturally a fit for the Premier League though I worry if Spurs is the right team with Kane being there, think he'd suit the likes of Everton more so if Lukaku leaves.

Sky Sport Italia confirm Miralem Pjanic to #Juventus for €30.4m plus €2m bonuses/Pjanic has agreed a 5 year contract.
Have to wonder if they're preparing for Pogba's exit, with that one.

Juventus are just covering themselves, seeing as Claudio Marchisio has a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury & is out until 2017

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Yea the only one to go will be Morata. Juve want to challenge for the CL next year. Pjanic, is an amazing free kick taker. Add's a lot of creativity too.

Sevilla manager Unai Emery will be joining PSG on a 3-year contract

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Think that's slightly harsh on Laurent Blanc. I know he probably didn't get as far as they would like in Europe but completely dominated the league and still could have improved with time.
I imagine Unai Emery has been picked because of his success in Europe.

Jose signs a 22 year old & now wants a 19 year old. What were people posting a couple of weeks ago? Essentially, this is Didier Drogba in the making. A year to learn of Zlatan too.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
It's de Bruyne and Lukaku all over again. Lukaku being the physical embodiment of Drogba, farmed out on loan because Jose didn't like Lukaku's penalty in the Super Cup. Wait until Bailly scores an own goal, he'll be in the reserves quicker than he can blink.LiamB wrote:Jose signs a 22 year old & now wants a 19 year old. Mourinho's ego will be the undoing of all these players he's signing. I don't know why anyone would play for him.

Wasn't the issue more Jose bringing through youngsters rather than buying them?

It could be good, it could be bad. It could be somewhere in-between. Bit foolhardy to judge them already in either light.

Leicester have apparently bid in the region of £15m-£20m for Troy Deeney. Awful, awful, awful stuff. Can see them going to pot this summer

Completely random question here, how many teams have played in the Champions League and been relegated in the same season?

Nothing new, expect him to leave for £15m or so, given he's got 12 months. I don't honestly think we'd miss him

Speaking of Norwich, RDM would like to sign Dorrans.
Apparently they had a good relationship at the baggies, he was a pivotal player in them getting into the prem, or so I read at least.

I think he did. I'm pretty sure he managed more games in the Champions League for them than Zidane did - albeit the less important games. I'm not sure exactly what the rules are though.

Wouldn't mind keeping dorrans as a squad option but not the end of the world if he leaves - could probably count the decent games he's had for us on my hands

I would've thought that players who played in the group stages of the CL but left in Jan would get winners medals if they were cup tied but unsure about managers.

He can add some extra numbers to his price tag.
That said he'll probably have to produce a few performances in the knock out rounds before the major clubs consider it.

Huge money, think he's a good striker, but £32m, for a side not even in the top 4, just sounds ridiculous.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Man Utd aren't in the top four, neither are Chelsea or Liverpool, all of those would be expected to pay more than that on their main acquisitions.

Everton paid near on that for Lukaku and Tottenham paid that for Lamela.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I'd expect it from huge, financially powerful clubs like United & Chelsea, who are among the European elite names. Spurs had the £80m from Bale to spend & signed Lamela & Soldado, which was really a one-off window, before that, they'd only signed David Bentley for big-ish money. I'd argue Everton blowing their entire budget on Lukaku also had it's downfalls, in the fact the rest of the squad was neglected & not improved, with only Besic being signed. I think WHU need at least three quality signings, to really progress, not just one statement signing. Interesting to see who else comes in & how much is spent on the rest of the squad.

With the cash flowing in the English game I'd expect that becomes more of the norm for clubs looking to break the monopoly.

Apart from the fact Bent, Modric and Dembele all cost more than Bentley.
