Di Marzio is about as useful as Balague when it comes to transfers, both flipping useless.

West Ham offer Tevez 150k a week to return, he wants 250k a week.

Thought he loved WHU.....no, he just loves the paper. Poor move by WHU, that looks a desperate play in my eyes, regardless of how good Tevez is or how old he is.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
You give Tevez £250k and Payet will want £300k then Karen Brady is looking at selling her dental implants/veneers on ebay to scrape up the cash

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
To be fair if I was Tevez, it'd take that kind of offer to make me leave home for a not elite European club.

Middlesbrough are signing Victor Valdes, but have turned down chance of Robin Van Persie. Imagine the latter's wage demands are far too high.

Of course he doesn't want to leave his home to come here unless it's major money.

I imagine he said it to reaffirm that West Ham are going after big targets.
Jordan Ibe given permission to speak to Bournemouth. £15 million. Imagine he's their Matt Ritchie replacement.
That's a lot of money for somebody so raw, but I have mixed feelings. I do think Ibe could come good, but too often he was a let down last season. I think he fell out with Klopp as well.
It's a shame as he's a talented young English player.

Think at this point with the latest tv contracts, we shouldn't really be surprised at these massive overpays. Everyone knows PL clubs have plenty of dollar.

We all know where that £15m is going, straight into Mike Ashley's pocket, when those mugs from Liverpool come calling for Ibe's replacement, the quite frankly, awful......Moussa Sissoko

I'd assume Mane is Ibe's replacement to be honest. Especially with Markovic back from loan. Not seen much about Sissoko from the usually reliable Liverpool journalists.

Liked Ibe but as said above his form dipped dramatically and his confidence levels also fell. Wonder if maybe Klopp's a fairly hard task master and some players are failing to rise to the occasion and meet his lofty standards.

Man U begin negotiations over a £100m deal for Paul Pogba. Think they will regret that.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I cant see them regretting anything. They have so much money and no legs in midfield that the fee is almost irrelevant and he'll have to be atrocious not to improve them.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
The fee to be so extortinate can actually be used in Utd's favour in the long run. It's a statement maker. If it comes off then it's a message that Utd can and will challenge the elite for what are regarded as the marque names in football.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I disagree, there's clearly been a food chain in football within the past 20 years, once a player shows a certain level of class that puts them above their teammates then they're snapped up by a club considered their better. However big Utd have been in the past 20 years then it was always the case that Real poached their top players, Beckham, Ronaldo etc. A shift in power due to the TV deals etc could see not only Utd but City and Chelsea snapping up players that normally would be certs for Real & Barca.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
They made that statement with Di Maria, we all knew United could financially challenge the elite, nothing new there. Still be amazed if Madrid don't quickly sell Morata & Rodriguez & hijack this. Still think he's going to fall short of the expectations of a £100m player, especially given the media & extra scrutiny his performances will get, playing in the the PL.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
Yeah, look I know there's not a lot of NBA fans here, but the NBA basically got a HUGE cash injection this off season, and the most average players have suddenly gone from $6-7 million a year to $31 million a year players. Anytime a league makes a quantum leap in budget, I think there's a period of bedding in where teams begin to come to terms with what quantifies a good deal and what doesn't. Think on market terms though, Tevez is probably still closer to £250k a week than £150k, especially if the transfer fee wasn't too bad.

Not sure it does anything to say United are more than Real or Barca. If Real or Barca really wanted him they'd probably have him.
I'd look more at the Renato deal for an indicator.

Not surprised he's back. I think he married a Geordie girl while at Newcastle. Santon can't defend at all, that's pretty much all I remember of his game.

Had a good euros, good player, but £20m is a bit to much for him though.

No doubt they will, just dont think he is worth quite that much, but then i guess alot of players are not worth what they go for.

Not sure there's a great difference between the two now, but Ibe athleticism gives him a much higher ceiling. Brady's as good as he's going to ever be a PL now.

We've offered Berahino a new four year deal.
If he rejects it, we sell him to Stoke for £16m.

£16 million seems low in the current market, appreciate he's only got one year left, but still seems quite low.

It's cash now or a year spent marginalised then going through tribunals, of which Burnley have just got a fee from Liverpool for Ings.
Why they really should've just taken the cash a year ago and moved on.

Southampton have got to get busy you feel this window.
Lost Mane, Wanyama and now Pelle. That's pretty much a big portion of the spine of the side.

Wanyamas probably replaceable to be honest. Don't think he was really a key player.
Mane harder but a large fee to replace him with.

Also consider we hold all the cards in negotiations for him, unlike Redmond he has multiple years left on his deal and we have no real need to cash in
