As an AB fan you take certain things as an act of faith any NZ player of any
age will have all the basic skills, plus fitness levels to play 85 minutes if
required.
Then you have to think 11 players gone from the RWC squad, many the best
of there generation.Plus the Worlds most winning captain. No tests since RWC
versus a battle hardened side.
NZ are usually slow starters in the First Test having said that only 30 odd
sides have beaten NZ in NZ.Only 2 NH sides England 1,France 4 have done
it in NZ,no side has won at Eden Park since 1994.
NO place is harder to win in than there, the side[NZ] still boasts 720
caps.You look who`s missing Messam,SBW,[7`s duties]the Ioanes ditto.
Sam Whitelock,Milner-Skudder,Kerr-Barlow ,Charlie Ngatai injured.
Luke Whitelock,Matt Todd,Cody Taylor,Sopango,Izzy Dagg plus the
New Wunderkind.
The conveyor belt rolls on, Wales if the play the the no risk up the
centre game taking points as they come they have a chance.
Kick down the throats of NZ they would be very silly to attempt
it.
Prediction NZ will get a least one maybe 2 Yellow Cards and probably
concede a Penalty try.
Wayne Barnes rules OK
Nothing quite like getting your excuses in early!

Kicking game has it's advantages for Wales. AB's not accurate under the high kick and defence weak around the ruck.

Agreed. Pointless kicking the ball away. The only way to pressure NZ is to keep running at them at pace.

It also has its major disadvantages for Wales. Everything they have done that's good so far has been by keeping ball in hand

Re: New Zealand v Wales, 11 June
Well done Wales. Wales in the lead. Wales just need to persevere. Conversely the AB's just need to improve their accuracy a bit and not try to much. Game could still go either way. AB's could run away with it, could also lose it. A big question for Wales will be if they can maintain the intensity.

Whatever happens next, 18 points, including two tries, is a great showing. Reminds me of the 2003 World Cup match.

You could say the same about Savea, great as a finisher but North has made umpteen breaks down the line.

What a half of rugby! Wales are playing brilliantly, not a fan of Liam Williams personality but he is on fire! 1/2p won't get the 15 shirt back.
Hallam Amos isn't up to playing the ABs tho

I think Cruden probably hit it on the head. It's a good game. I think if the AB's tidy a few things up they could run rampant. I'm not sure whether they will though. Wales have the lead and deserve it. They can win this game. Interesting...

Think it's fair to say no-one really envisaged the game going this way, much as we might have held out a faint hope.

Wales aren't being given much opportunity to run in this half. Going for the corner is a bold call.

They need a final 10 like they've given to England recently now.

Wales look a bit lazy now, they're fitter than this. ABs up the tempo as expected and it works, also as expected.

Great stuff from Wales for 60 minutes but NZ just pulling away in the end.
I fear this might be the pattern for all the home nations.

I don't see NZ getting two sent off to facilitate it either.

I wish they would be consistent with that. Either the ball has to travel backwards or it has to be 'thrown' backwards but may travel forwards.

Odd call on that last NZ 'non' try, looked like a standard pass and a try to me, couldn't see any difference between it and others.

I think it'll be one of those calls Barnes looks back on and realises he got it wrong, a bit like the scrum he's just given. Plenty of them in the game. Wales could score here.
