Re: Royal London One Day Cup
Surrey secure the last place in the QFs. The line up is:
- Somerset v Worcestershire
- Warwickshire v Essex
- Kent v Yorkshire
- Northamptonshire v Surrey

England players released for these 1/4 finals and T20 finals day. Thus Moeen and Woakes play on Wednesday, and Root, Bairstow and Ballance available on Thursday.

Big victory for Somerset, with Worcester only looking as if they could set a decent score whilst Moeen was at the wicket. Warwickshire's total underpinned by a century from Trott (who was stumped!!) and Essex having made a bright start fell away in the middle order with Numbers 3-6 all failing to reach double figures.

Root replaced Williamson/Head neither of whom were available. Bairstow for Hodd a no brainer even if it did not work. Ballance for Leaning perhaps not a great move.

While Northants were boosted by that last wicket partnership, I feel Surrey and Kent have the upper hands today.

Kent/Yorks in the balance. A big partnership between Blake and Stevens just parted leaving Kent with approx 100 to win off 18 overs and 5 wickets in hand.

Narrow wins for Yorks and Surrey who meet in semi at Headingly.

Surrey should be quite big favourites imo.

Re: Royal London One Day Cup
Yorkshire scraped into the 1/4 finals by net run rate. They won the semi due to 9 wickets from Plunkett, Willey and Rashid - none of whom are available. Losing Roy is potentially huge for Surrey (but would Ansari be back?) but they should still have far too much firepower for a largely second string bowling lineup.
The likes of Carver and Waite should do ok with the ball, but the batting will struggle to score enough runs.

Warwickshire make 284 off there 50 overs
If they'd shown some intent they'd have made 330+ easy there - only 4 wickets down

Somerset robbed here. Some awful LBW decisions

Re: Royal London One Day Cup
Certainly 5 LBWs in 10 overs is a decent haul! I haven't seen any replays. Have to hope that umpires don't have restless fingers when Patel's bowling in the final.....
