Who doesn't play in midfield then? Matuidi, Kante or Pogba?
Sorry just re read your post and realised you said drop Giroud. Yeah not a bad idea.

Hero - have you seen Everton are being linked with Neto. Remember him from the old Porto/Fiorentina days and the controversy he created?

If weren't going to take Valbuena they should of taken Benzema or Lacazette.

I've been a Belgium fan since 1994 and can tell you now, Axel Witsel is the Belgian James Milner. He can play several positions, but is crud in each and every one, is hated by his own fans, and should never play for his country again.Afro wrote:Not sure TBH. He would cost a lot and potentially the type of player we need. I'd prefer Strootman to him TBH, but Witsel feels more probable.
Strootman would be better playing on one leg (which he may well do considering his injury history). But that level of ambition is just what Everton need. Sell Stones, sell Lukaku, and use the £100m + the c.£100m for those two to go out and buy a seriously good squad.
Affers, how do you feel now that Hibbert and Osman are no longer at the club?

I had to play because my main keeper was injured and you targeted him. Then followed a discussion about him being a rookie/Brazil international depending on which side you were on!!!

The rumours say £100m + whatever comes in from sales. And Lukaku being offered a double your money contact to stay on.
Personally if someone offered the price being banded about, I'd bite their hands off. Despite his goals, he still struggles to control a bag of cement!!

Oh and a bit disappointed about the way Osman and Hibbert have been treated by the club, but I guess there is no room for sentiment in the modern Premier League

I think his progress to being an £8m keeper in a mere 5 years or so backs me up

There were two options: Hodgson, who had done a good job at Fulham and Albion, or the corrupt Redknapp, who had done a good job when having ££££££ to spend.FIFA Diva wrote:Hodgson is an awful manager, don't care what you say Azzy but this man should never have come anywhere near taking over.

I agree with GSC to be totally honest.
People quickly forget what we've experienced over the last 20 years at tournaments.
Hodgson has got us a team that you actually feel positive about.

Yeah I honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching England at a major tournament before this one.
Besides, who would replace him? International football isn't a big draw these days.

Re: The World League II
His worked with some of the best players in the world, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole, Rooney etc please we're not Estonia or Latvia huge exaggeration. I'd prefer to have a manager where we win stuff with, Not seen anything special about any England player in the current side to make me think we've got a good up and coming squad.
Last 20 years is not much different to what we've achieved under dinosaur Hodgson. Sven made 3 quarters, Dinosaur has made a quarter, and failed in the group stages .
We just about beat a team who've only got one player and have qualified for a tournament for the first time in almost 6 decades.
So you can feel positive about England with Ali, Dier buy Martial is nothing special. I don't know what to say.
96, 2002, 2004 and 2006 I felt more positive heck I even felt better when we failed to make 2008.
Roy became manager by default, it's like Olly winning most sexiest 606 manager, best of a bad bunch. (Olly wouldn't be my pick personally, just used him as an example)
I can't believe what I'm reading, I'm fully expecting Marky to barge in soon and show his support for the dinosaur. When Roy sees the support from you lot ots only going to increase his confidence in killing out national team. I predicted us to become good by 2040 I'm changing it to 2080 now.

Re: The World League II
Lampard was 33 when he took over, Gerrard was 32, Cole 31. Rooney was 26 but had gotten himself suspended for the first 2 games of the tournament team Roy inherited last minute.

Re: The World League II
I find your views astonishing Viva.
And I didn't say that any of the Emgland players were any better than Martial. In fact they probably aren't.
But I am enjoying watching this England side more than any other team at a tournament since 96. Sorry if I shouldn't, it's just happened without me making a conscious decision.

Apparently we should bring back the days where we struggle to a 0-0 against Russia, scrape a 1-1 vs Wales and narrowly beat Slovakia 1-0 before being smacked by someone with designs on winning the thing.
Poland should've turned over Germany btw

Viva do you mean Hodgson when you say the Dinosaur?
Because I'm anti Hodgson right now. I think these players are playing this well despite Hodgson, not because of him.

I'd easily pay £20m + £120k a week for Vardy. The guy is impossible to handle.Fernando wrote:It appears the BBC was drunk at some point this afternoon
West Bron linked with two £20m players this week, neither of whom I've heard of. While I don't follow overseas football as closely as I did when I was 15, I can't see how some very average players get such obscene valuations.

Re: The World League II
Also, and this hurts me to say, but Kyle Walker has been exceptional. These two games have been the best of his entire career - if he plays like this for the rest of his career he could very well end up at Barca or Real. Really excellent.
Danny Rose, less impressive - I'd give Bertrand a shot if these were friendlies, but I wouldn't upset the chemistry during a tournament so he stays in by default. I think we should drop Alli and bring in Wilshere too; Alli's not been bad, but when we're playing intricate passes in and around the box, Jack Attack is the man you want, not Alli.

What is the national obsession with the diamond?
Seriously I don't get it. We tried it and it was abysmal. We need to play with real width, and Walker/Rose can't be as aggressive against teams with actual ambition to score.

The diamond is the only real option as we didn't bring any wingers other than Sterling
Walker and Rose providing the width as it is so I don't see an issue.

We have looked at our best, in both games, when we have got the ball out wide. Sturridges goal aside we didn't look like breaking Wales down through the middle.
We need width and I'm with Trebs. I would go Vardy for Sterling and keep it the same. Kane looks tired so perhaps Sturridge in for him, but id like to see Kane given a chance with Vardy alongside him rather than Roadrunner.
