Shame there, Aussie taking a lead into the second half.
I just hope Eng don't get too thrashed as they look very tired now.

So Australia take a one point lead into the break. A little fortunate to do so , I think.
Been a very even contest so far. Might come down to the bench strength again in the end ?

Getting annoyed with Australia taking players out 3, 4m beyond the ruck

All things being equal Ozy are really poor. Mentally, again we appear the stronger. I'm expecting us to raise and break them in this last half. The next 20 is massive.
Another tactical master class from EJ.

Yep - made the point earlier on - they've been doing it all game. Obviously realised Nige is a little lax around the breakdown.nathan wrote:Getting annoyed with Australia taking players out 3, 4m beyond the ruck

They area they definitely aren't poor is when they put pace on the ball and get it quickly to their backline. They are looking very dangerous there.

I'm a huge critic of Mako...but I have to admit as each game has progressed he's been more and more impressive. Been rock solid in the basics, huge in the breakdown clearouts, tackled like a backrower and always offering to carry....

Good try , then Aussie opening up our defence again. This could be a high scoring second half.

And a score , our defence looks poor tonight but I think it's just the sheer pace. We don't look quite up with it today.

Re: Whitewash or Backlash - Austrlia v England, 3rd Test
That ruck just before half time was another example - Oz 5 dived right over the ruck to take out Itoje who was a good metre away from the ruck. I always thought you had to be bound to the ruck to be cleared out but maybe I'm wrong and we're using some new American football style laws now.Heaf wrote:Yep - made the point earlier on - they've been doing it all game. It's not players in the ruck they are targeting the players coming in to act as guards. Hartley should be badgering Owens about this its a blatant tactic.

Level again . This one developing into a real battle - albeit a try-fest as well.
Aussies back's pace means they are always dangerous . England need to keep getting good field position . This could go either way...

I must admit England should have pace too but it does not seem to be there in defence.

Well that's that. The 12 just skinned us there. We haven't looked this poor in defence in the whole series. Maybe the 12 has been the difference but England just don't look at the same level either.

Then again the Aussie defence hasn't been exactly watertight.
Game still very much on.

Funnily enough I'm not nervous tonight as we have the series and I just wanted us to at least compete tonight and show that it wasn't a fluke. Losing the final test after a long long season is no shame.

Matt Toomua has transformed that Australian back line. Very good game from him tonight. Can't wait for him to land in Leicester.

And here we go again. They have smashed us to bits from the restarts.
I'm really impressed England have stayed in it physically after this tour.
Tactically this has gone how Aussie wanted, very quick, every chance to hit right back every time.
And there it is again.

Dire kick from Nowell there. Then a poor tackle. A poor game for him this week.
