Seems like they're serious about Balor. Was worried he'd end up getting the Neville treatment but for me he could be Daniel Bryan levels of super babyface. Totally right to keep him away from The Club, although inevitably that will happen at some point. Top entrance too.

And Reigns, wow, they're giving him the treatment for the wellness violation. Taking 2 clean losses in 2 nights. The heel turn should happen but it should be a slow burner. Would love to see him support Balor only to go all Batista/Mysterio on him after Summerslam.

On paper, there's nothing really to argue with as the first post-draft show. The unpredictability of Finn Balor winning and Roman Reigns taking another clean loss along with the women's title changing hands looks promising. Nice to see the return of the squash match but if the emphasis was on bringing back the Cruiserweight Division, surely there should have been an exhibition match? Are they holding out on crowning a champion until the CWC has finished?

I guess Smackdown! will clear up a few more unanswered questions. Not sure what how the tag-team and women's division will work over there but I guess we will get an answer on tonight's show.

That was some show, credit where it's due, they are definitely trying to give RAW this fresh feel to it and it certainly worked.

Not surprised the announced there would be a new World Title but I am surprised it went to RAW, assumed Rollins would win the WWE belt at Battleground..the name of it is inconsequential, give it a few months and most wont even flinch at the name, plus it's Stephanie McMahon's show, Universe is greater than World so in that sense its only natural she'd want hers to sound bigger than the SD equilivent.

Finn Bàlor, that was some debut, winning the fatal four is one thing but pinning Reigns clean in the final is another, no doubt Reigns is still being punished but Bàlor has an opportunity to cement a great spot for himself, he has everything you require to be a main player, I agree with those who make the Bryan comparisons.

The WWE Women's Title match was insane, I don't think Sasha has done anything in the WWE to rival her NXT stint until last night and while I'm not necessarily blaming her for that it often felt she was floating in her NXT glories, last  night changed that, what a match, Charlotte has been an excellent Champ and shes so suited to that heel role, works it flawlessly.

Cosmetically I liked the fact RAW went back to the red ropes, I also like the fact they have changed commentary position amd Corey Graves makes a huge difference as well.

The post match interviews where also good, RAW felt as fresh as I could ever remember it in the last 10 years, being the first show that isn't unsual but they've set a standard now and it'll be intriguing to see  how they build on it.

All that without an outing for their #1 draft too

I was really impressed with the whole flow of the show, RAW often feels like a slog, it was paced well

P.S the whole Golden Truth segments hunting Pokemon isn't my bag and wondering out into the ring spoiling matches should be too stupid to comprehend but given that people have walked into the path of cars, got lost in caves and even two people were stupid enough to fall off a cliff hunting these things then I can just about accept what they're doing.

Aside from Golden Truth, this was a bloody excellent episode of RAW. Certainly the best in a very long time.

They've managed to make it feel different already in terms of presentation. The little details like pre and post match interviews, the new logo and music, the red ropes, the announce team and their position, it all adds up.

Michael Cole was at his best tonight. Corey Graves is excellent and putting people over and Saxton was there too.

Not a huge fan of the 'Universal title' but I like they're doing something new instead of just bringing back the World Heavyweight Championship - as much as I love the Big Gold Belt its good to leave it to its retirement.

I liked the use of the squash matches. Generally not a fan but they serve their purpose. I just hope thats not all we see from Jax and Strowman.

Really surprised Sasha won, I was sure they would be saving this for Summerslam but Im still really happy for her. She is one of the best in the world - including men - so its only right she holds the title.

The biggest surprise was Finn Balor. Thats how you make a star. One night on the main roster and he's already a big deal.

SmackDown need to do something big now, and I hope that RAW can keep this up. Again, a bloody excellent effort.

First time I've genuinely liked Finn, but cant see the Bryan comparisons. Zayn is your new DB, and I'd have much preferred him in this position. Mates with HHH do get your extra good treatment though...
