Re: 6CW Chat v13
I was going to do it as a survey, but it was a lot of work, so I'll just ask you here:
QOTD: With each wrestler, who do you see them as when you are reading their matches? Not so much just what you picture them to look like, but compare them to a wrestler as a whole package. This comes off the back of Pete wanting Engel to seem more visceral as he fights, based on Shinsuke Nakamura. I personally dont see him in the ring as anything like that, but thats just my vision.

Re: 6CW Chat v13
Okay so, I will get in on this based on me being used as reference...
Engel travelled the world, he never went to a specific Wrestling school or spent any time in any kayfabe federations, he learnt by watching how others Wrestled (Obviously this is Kayfabe). When Engel first started out in 6CW all those years ago, I saw him as a Mick Foley style win at all costs and soak up pain kind of guy. On my return I wanted something similar and saw a lot in Bray Wyatt as how I wanted Engel to be...however...
A few months ago I came to a realisation that Wyatts style works because of his imposing (Fat?) figure, but that there was nothing REALLY chaotic or unpredictable aside from his finish that I truly loved...and then in walks Shinsuke Nakamura...okay so I did just watch him in NXT on his debut and think WOW, I won't lie about that, but before I made an out right decision, I watched his older work...and thought WOW. Chaotic beauty, arrogant unpredictability, a physicality which allows him in this PG era to go toe to toe with the people around him, the Cerberus', Joshua's, etc and actually feel like he COULD win, that he can hurt his opponents but also that he will use every part of his body to win, that when you think your safe Engel pulls something out of nowhere.
Its not to say Engel has lost his dark nature or that he won't flip at a moments notice, just to show more focus on hurting his opponent with a realistic stiff style whilst also projecting his vision of beauty in chaos.
Dicey I always saw as a Stone Cold style wrestler in ring pre neck injury, Joshua I see as 98 Kane, Reborn I see as Black Hardy.

Re: 6CW Chat v13
Will need to go old school to answer this.
Adamson I see as Mr Perfect, technically very good and powerful at times but able to brawl when he has too.
Engel I see a cross between Doink the Clown and Mankind. Lots of mannerisms and face pulling but can be quite vicious.
Thunder I can see as Ultimate Warrior. Just with the intensity he brings rather than using power moves.
Wood I think is Owen Hart. Technically good again but can also high fly.
Dicey is probably closer to Stone Cold than Sandman right now in fighting technique and how he would get the crowd involved.
Reborn a Mysterio, but with hardcore tendencies? Willing to put his body on the line for some reward.

Morning all
For me;
Cassius fights like CM Punk
I see Dicey like Stone Cold
Adamson as Bobby Lashley
Engel as Bray Wyatt fits for me. Not Nakamura
Thunder is Jeff Hardy
Reborn is AJ Styles
Liam Wood is Randy Orton
Joshua as the noughties Abyss
Cerberus as Kane
O Callaghan is unique for me
I'll get a promo up tonight Dicey. Sorry for the delay. Busy weekend and then Summerslam watching

Re: 6CW Chat v13
Just to clarify what I meant about Engel being like Doink the Clown, the question stated about not what you perceive the character to look like but how they act in the ring.
Old school Doink was great at having his attitude change in a instant. He would go from smiley to evil back to smiley again and the crowd couldn't keep up with what side of Doink was showing. I also mentioned Mankind who I see as more the wrestling side of Engel, which Pete agreed to himself by saying originally he saw him as a Mick Foley type.

Not a chance in my opinion
Good storytelling from him as always though
Thoroughly recommend that match

I dint know why doink would be an insult. That guy was fantastic at what he did. He is a major part of why I got into wrestling. Such a string character and such a good wrestler to be able to pull that off and not be a pure joke. Between him and Warrior I got dragged into wrestling and then I found Jake the Snake and I was hooked lol

Anyone else notice how much they where calling Cena a veteran and a legend and talking about him like he was the undertaker or ric flair or hogan. Kinda seems like they're trying to put him over as a lot older and closer to retirement than he is.

WWE are unlucky. You can't say they haven't tried to move away from the clique of established main eventers they always churned out. However there is a good chance they have to turn back to them now.

Agree with this - you just can't account for injuries, Wrestlemania was just savaged by them this year and now their big plans for the title in the latter half of 2016 are just gone out the window too
Think Rollins wins personally - can't believe they're just gonna give it to Roman and scrap the Rusev/Reigns feud

I always thought of Dicey as a mix of Dreamer and Sandman, never being the top guy but always hoping and plugging away but lately since the F**K JONES thing he has gone down the SCSA route, since that didn't really pan out story-wise I don't know if that is a good thing or not

I'm with this on his showings so far. Dropkick after dropkick after dropkick - the match with Rollins was as dull as dishwater. I'm not sure where all the fanfare comes from. The facepaint and the entrance is unique - but then I think it really needs to be because, dare I say it for being labelled a McMahon.... he's a little bit small isn't he? And that is compared to Rollins.

I was wondering whether he is actually going to semi-retire?
It definitely seemed that way.
And now he is getting even more mainstream exposure, perhaps he sees it as the right time.

I would put the Universal Title on Jericho. I think he's in sensational form. With Owens he's the most entertaining part of the product, which is great after years of coasting IMO

If Balors claim to fame is attire and entrance, you might as well put the title on Fandango
I do think you have to be a certain size to be a believable champ. Rey winning the Rumble and then the World title wasn't met with credibility rather it being a tokenism

Storyline wise it panned out perfectly. The story going in was that Cerberus, Engel and Dicey were not wanted near the main event scene. Dicey rebelled, said f**k Jones and ended up where Jones did not want him. Reborn vs Joshua was a culmination of an angle much like Dicey vs Wood was also a culmination of an angle. The difference is, Dicey didn't go over, should he have gone over? Nope not really, but Dicey had to be protected as his promo's had been very consistent, so you got the dodgy finish and then Thunder getting an over due push (Certainly over due in terms of logical story telling at least). Reborn going over Joshua was simple story telling, writing one of the active members of team 6CW to topple the leader of the Forgotten.
In terms of my Nakamura comparison and people not agreeing, give it 6 months and you will love it. Just picture Engel in a strait jacket fighting guards etc, he would have to learn to use his feet, legs, etc. Engel likes pain but he prefers to inflict it on his opponents, that stiff "strong"-style is something I have always loved. Okay so the martial arts Nakamura uses maybe a little of a stretch but its not so much that he is exactly like Nakamura but that he can hurt you from any position and will be very creative in that way.
If Engel had not previously had a clown gimmick years ago, there would be no such comparison to Doink. Its simply oh look clown...doink. Be like if I had him as a psychopath in a turkey costume, people would have him down as the gobbledy gooker. Now if I returned and said I am dropping the turkey gimmick and being serious people would still make Turkey jokes etc. Thats just how it is.
6CW is looking very strong now in terms of active promoer's and I do not envy Chris and the team giving people pushes etc. I think, people should be rather patient in this process, one things for certain its going to be a fun ride. #SummerofDoink

I would beg to differ, Dicey never got to get one over on Jones which really wasted the F**K JONES angle in my eyes anyway, should Dicey have faced Josh, I think so, whether he beat him or not it was where I and many others saw that angle going not against Woods as Woods had no affiliation with Jones other than using him to win the EWF title, yes Dicey and Woods had a rivalry but that hadn't been touched on or mentioned since it ended back then, it confused people and muddled up the storylines, we were told that Dicey will face Woods so they're feud could come full circle and Dicey could get some redemption, did that happen? No but Thunder was always going to win the EWF whether Dicey beat Woods or not that night and fair play to him but again story wise Dicey was shafted, as for the dodgy finish Im still waiting to find out why Cass did what he did and BD/Kincade to that matter, the decision was made and I cant change that nobody can but that is my opinion on the matter and people might not agree (and haven't ) but each to their own

Engel likes pain but likes to inflict it on others. Wonder where we have heard that before as a gimmick.
You completely missed the point of the question. But can't be bothered to explain again.

No, am not missing a point really, I understand where you are coming from Darren and agree somewhat...however, if he had just been a psychopath with no clown gimmick at all there would be no clown comparisons so Doink would not be mentioned.
Thats just human nature. Was not complaining about the comparison at all thanks :-)
Dicey/Wood could still have redemption but the fact that you beat Wood several times before the feud ender means there has to be a renewal of said feud and for it to be given a chance by those taking part.

It was 1-1 PPV wise going into NoG and was billed by Paul/Chris as "Dicey's Redemption" after him losing to Woods and going to rock bottom and the Xtreme Division, it was the full circle feud ender, it didn't need a renewal of the feud but it needed a proper build up and not what it got in the end, maybe if they had Reborn make his pick waaaay before he did then it would have been different but they didn't so what are ya gonna do

Re: 6CW Chat v13
I do think Dicey has a lot of unanswered questions and unresolved issues, and from a Dicey Reilly fan's perspective it was disappointing that he didn't fight Joshua, and the end of the EWF Title match; even though from a Cassius perspective I was delighted. Hopefully that's all just part of the plan and will all come around when we least expect it. All those events have served to elevate Dicey to this Stone Cold Steve Austin level - so whilst short-term results are disappointing, may have awesome long term connotations

Re: 6CW Chat v13
It isn't short term results though, it goes back to Day Of Reckoning in my opinion and the way the Xtreme Division was handled and all the work that was put into it promo wise for the guys involved, after that we came up with the Dicey walking away from the TV tourney and the F**K JONES thing happened and that kinda went nowhere as well and a lot of work went into that and the promos (I enjoyed them and I think it was probably my best stuff) that's two big angles that got binned/severely altered for reasons only Paul/Chris/Mat know, its hard to have hope or faith after it all
Just promo so I can vent on you (ooo er)
